Speaker 2:

Alright, alright, alright, welcome to the show. This is the Frankly Fantasy Football Podcast. We are your hosts, frankie and Johnny. I am coming to you live from Sedona, arizona, on a wonderful vacation, but you know what, frank, I'm still working, okay, I'm still pumping up. We're still going to put out some good fantasy at play. You know what I'm saying? Right, damn right. God damn right.

Speaker 1:

You. So just to recap here last week in Connecticut Tuesday, a different part of Arizona, and now this is today, sedona. I mean, dude, you're trying to be who's the guy that you used to like? Really I don't want to say idolize, but you Anthony Bourdain.

Speaker 2:

Your goal?

Speaker 1:

you told me you love traveling and you're a foodie like a motherfucker, so you want to go and find those top good spots. John, I got to say, man, you're living it. You're living what you preach brother.

Speaker 2:

Listen, man, I want to be a combination. I want to be the love child of Graham Hancock and Anthony Bourdain. Those are just two of my heroes and absolutely In fact, I watch Bourdain's episodes when I travel to cities. He's been to see where he's gone and go to some of those places and experience some of that. It's really cool, man. Yeah, this is. You know, I'm an idiot.

Speaker 2:

I decided to start three years ago. We decided to start a fantasy football podcast, where football season is during the busiest time of year for me. This is my travel season, my selling season. So I'm traveling all over the world in the fall and trying to figure out how the fuck to do a podcast. I'm taking my light with me. I'm taking my microphone. I carry when I go oh sorry, I just muted, but carry this guy everywhere I go my bag traveling. This week. This week I went to a conference for work, straight into a vacation in Sedona, straight into Thanksgiving. I fly back Wednesday night to Thanksgiving. My bag I packed for was so weird Two weeks gone, 67 pounds. I go to check it in and she goes. You're a little over, sir. And I'm like, yeah, she goes. Do you want to take some stuff out, I go. Where am I going to put 17 pounds worth of shit?

Speaker 1:

First of all, I just saw a guy speaking of, and then we'll get into it, but for those listening and watching, there was a meme of a guy.

Speaker 2:

that's like it was actually Canadian, sebastian Manus Calcutta.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I saw that too.

Speaker 2:

He's like wait a minute what's supposed to do? Like, does it matter if it's in the top with me or if it's in the bottom in my bag? It's still the same weight on the fucking plate he goes. And what about the guy 500 pounds behind me Does?

Speaker 1:

where does he have to go? So good, so good.

Speaker 2:

I love that. Welcome to the show everybody. Thank you so much for joining us. We're having a blast. What a great season.

Speaker 2:

It's great time to be just talking about fantasy football, man, and getting into it. This is the time of year where you're probably in that middle range and you're fighting for every win. You got to fight for every point is. Don't forget, points matter, man. You could be tied, you can lose, but if you're tied with guys, you still have those points that can push you over the edge. So you got to play for points. Swing for the fences on your lineups this week, guys, don't forget. You can follow us on social media on Instagram at frankly fantasy football, and you're listening everywhere podcasts are found, but please watch us on YouTube. Occasionally we do some funny shit, frank. He's a damn good looking guy, so it's really worth watching. Look at him, jesus Christ. Yeah, see that face right there. It's gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.

Speaker 2:

Today we're going to get into our starts and sits and we're going to do a little buy sell as well. It seems to be pretty popular and really helpful. I know your trade deadlines are quickly approaching in the next week or so here, but first we're going to get into a little bit of news, all right news out of Chicago. The Bears will not commit to a running back one. Khalil Herbert is still questionable, but he could return this week. But it looks like they're going to run with the hot hand, run with the committee. Not good for fantasy in this backfield. In my mind I'm thinking let's give it a shot and let's see if Khalil Herbert plays and see how it shakes out. Now, because of the buys which we're going to talk about very soon, there's a lot of running backs out. You may have to throw some of these guys in. You're just going to have to temper your expectations. We're not exactly sure what it looks like with all three guys in the backfield healthy. What do you think, frank? You got a different take.

Speaker 1:

No, John, I definitely think that you just got to kind of wait and wait and see what happens. I mean, the Yansey Foreman has been balling out Khalil Herbert is going to come back. They're trying to get Rochon Johnson involved. Got to kind of see what happens from this point.

Speaker 2:

Agreed. Arizona Cardinals added Michael Carter running back from waivers. He was dropped from the Jets. Do you think this has any fantasy relevance right now at all, with Michael Carter in Arizona?

Speaker 1:

No, not immediately, John, but it could down the stretch. They could end up looking at if something were to happen to that of James Conner again, and we've thought the Mercado, you know, banged up all year so far, so it could end up turning into something. But as of right now, james Conner, right off of IR man is looking pretty solid.

Speaker 2:

Yeah Well, we all know the history of James Conner. He'll play a couple of games and potentially get hurt again. If you've got the space on your bench, I think it's worth a stash to see if he gets utilized at all. Desean Watson out for the season. He's going to have surgery.

Speaker 2:

I don't want to dwell on this. Everyone's been watching it all week and on the news and all the channels and it's so funny. The news came out the morning that our episode came out. We didn't know about the news yet when that, when the episode came out on Wednesday and I just sat back and laughed and thought the meme that we were talking about, where he's like DeSean Watson's you know status for Sunday, and it was maybe, maybe not, maybe, fuck yourself. Well, I woke up that morning and it was maybe, fuck yourself. I saw that the text threads were blowing up. It was seven o'clock in the morning in Arizona. You guys were already up, saw the news Text thread went crazy. I just saw all of that and I just laid in bed and stared at the ceiling and just went my God, let's not get into that. Let's not get into the doom and gloom, but we do have Dorian Thompson. Robinson DTR is going to start for the Browns. Frankie, you think that's a good idea? I want you to explain to everybody why.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I definitely think it's a good idea. The reason being, first and foremost, is because limited amount of film they had the Steelers do not have good amounts of film on DTR. They have the one game against the Ravens, which was astronomically terrible, and so they didn't get anything from that.

Speaker 1:

I mean you're not exactly. You're not getting any. I mean a 25% completion percentage. He threw for, I think, 122 yards and three interceptions. You're not seeing shit from that.

Speaker 1:

The other reason why I like this, sean, is because to me both and I understand what I'm going to say, but PJ Walker in DTR's floor truly isn't that different. Pj Walker's is a bit higher, I get it, but not that much DTR or, excuse me, pj Walker still averaging two to three turnovers. Again, we've seen what DTR did in his first start. There's not a lot of difference there. The difference, though, is going to be the ceiling, is that DTR ceiling, from what we've seen in preseason and in college, is significantly higher than that of PJ Walker. So now it's like, okay, we're rolling out of rookie against a really good defense. Understand, there's the very limited film on him, and the ceiling could be higher.

Speaker 1:

But, john, what this also bodes well to is that this means that the Browns are definitely going to sign another quarterback, if you're not locking in that of PJ Walker, who has beat, by the way, san Francisco, right, the Colts. He didn't do it, we understand that, but the defense did whatever. He was still at the helm. So there's still something there. But again, what this is saying is, even with those to the side, we've seen his peak, we've seen the max, so we need to move on from that. So what this is saying to the rest of the team is it's like hold on, we're going to let DTR rock for a bit and we're going to get somebody in here to really write the ship for the rest of the year. That's why I think this makes sense for them to start DTR.

Speaker 2:

I do too. I think this is such a big game in the grand scheme of things, for the season If they can figure something out that I think it's the best option to confuse the Steelers. At least put a guy back there that can potentially evade the pass rush. And exactly what you're saying it's more difficult to prepare for DTR than it is for PJ. Walker Could be a one week fix. You heard some rumors out there, though, Frank. I think, since the, the Browns, who are clearly a contender, clearly at this point a contender for the Super Bowl, A couple of quarterbacks are saying fuck, you pay me or leave. I want to leave, let me play or let me leave. What do you got going on? What are you hearing out there? You're little birds there. You're like the spider. You're like the spider in Game of Thrones Just fucking everywhere dude, I have my little plugs everywhere.

Speaker 1:

Right, guys, there's two, two names that I keep hearing constantly. Number one is Ryan Tannehill. Ryan Tannehill has requested from the Titans to be released. Remember, we're past the trade deadline, so we cannot trade for anybody else. But Ryan Tannehill has already lost his job, he's already gotten paid from the guarantee and he's going to be an unrestricted free agent next year. Why not help him as a Titan? Right? Who's done? He's done good things for the Titans, right? They Titans went on a couple of crazy runs in the playoffs. Do the right thing release him and give him an opportunity to write the ship for a contract next year. If he signs with a team like the Browns, who desperately need a quarterback, he is now giving himself an opportunity to sign a contract next year as a potential guy that's vying for a starting position. Think about the Falcons, think about somebody like that who's really not sold on any of their quarterbacks today. If they don't go into the draft, they're going to be looking elsewhere. Maybe it's a Tannehill type of play. So that's Tannehill.

Speaker 1:

The other name that has come up is our boy, jacoby Brissette. Now, this has not been verified, so I want to be very crystal clear when I say this, but multiple sources have said that Jacoby Brissette has requested a release because he was brought in to be a starter. That is what his impression was. Obviously, that hasn't panned out. Sam how, sam how has absolutely bald the fuck out to the point to where he's the number one passing. He's leading and passing yards for the season right now. So Jacoby Brissette wants an opportunity to play and I think he's earned it. So now there's a lot of speculation turning hey the brown.

Speaker 1:

This just happened to the Browns. Jacoby Brissette's now saying this now it makes sense. And if this is true, john, what happened at the trade deadline? For those of you who didn't know Jacoby Brissette, the Washington commanders wanted either a third or a fourth, and I believe it was a third is what their sticking point was for trade value for him. No fucking way, anybody's going to trade a third round. But now it's basically a big F. You, if the commanders are able to release him, he comes with. The Browns were gold. So a lot of shit happening. And then you have Vegas odds man out there saying Tom Brady's plus 300, rg three's plus 600. Those are the top two guys. No fucking way, those guys are going to come to play.

Speaker 1:

Stop it, but no way. A lot of crazy shit's happening, a lot of speculation, a lot of fun.

Speaker 2:

That's bananas man. I will see what happens here. Justin Fields, quarterback for the Chicago Bears, is set to return against the Lions. That is much needed for DJ Moore. So thank God for the DJ Moore owners. Keenan Allen's got a shoulder injury. Didn't practice on Wednesday. They don't have any more information yet about that. Coach is hopeful that he will suit up. Keep an eye on Keenan Allen. If he doesn't play could be Quentin Johnston time. He did get in the end zone last week. He's starting to get a little more playing time. This could be the second half push for the rookie of finally getting some PT. So let's see what happens there.

Speaker 2:

Christian Watson been totally disappointing this year, questionable with a shoulder injury. He's been bad man. A lot of you may not have the option, though, with by weeks and you know if you're in big leagues like double flexes, things like that, you know you may have to use them. But keep an eye on Christian Watson. Doesn't look like he's looking good to play. Here's some great news though. Devon H and rookie sensation Just let the goddamn world on fire had a hamstring injury. Went on IR. They did that as precautionary because they had other backup running backs. He is fully healthy. He's fully expected to play this week, barring any setbacks. Fire his ass up. We'll talk about him, I think, a little bit later here. Let's see here.

Speaker 2:

Well, it looks like the Houston Texan scored too many points the past couple weeks. They got some guys banged up here man Damian Pierce and Noah Brown, likely to miss this week. It's looking like Nico Collins and Dalton Schultz also questionable for the week. Nico Collins, keep an eye on that. He could play. Dalton Schultz is looking pretty good too. Keep an eye on those guys because if they do play and Noah Brown is out, like we talked about, there's three guys out there catching passes Tank Dell, if Noah Brown's out, tank Dell and Nico Collins fire them both up. Two of the three guys are out of work. All right.

Speaker 2:

Alexander Madison still in concussion protocol. He could the coaches kind of being coy about it. He could clear the concussion protocol. What we've seen historically 90% of the people don't clear it in a week. They usually miss the following week. So if Alexander Madison misses Ty Chandler, fire him up. Man Gray, he's going to be the starter. Really Nobody behind him. He'll get all of the load. I think we'll talk about him a tad a little bit later.

Speaker 2:

So I'm going to show you the guys questionable here. Not a ton of information, just guys you're going to have to watch Deontay Johnson questionable, seguin Barclay questionable and Antonio Gibson questionable. Keep an eye on all of that. All right, let's get to our starts and sits, or SNR, hidden quitter, baby. Okay, we've got week 11 buys here. Couple of teams going on. This is not a good one really, man. This is kind of putting a hurting on me, especially with some running backs Falcons, colts, patriots, saints all on a buy. So you're without B John, you're without JT or without Remandre, you're without Alvin Kamara brutal one for the running backs here. All right, frankie, let's look at some guys in your tier one. 12 to 16 team leagues here. Who do you love this week, baby? Who are we starting?

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, baby, I'm firing up the number four running back in half PPR heading into this week. John, you want to know who that is? Ryan Robinson for that of the Washington commanders, averaging 13.2 points a game and half PPR. John, this is a smash play. A smash play. They're playing the New York Giants. Anytime a team is playing the New York Giants, you fire up everybody on the opposite side of the fence. So for me, man, what he did last week against a very good Seattle team was nothing short of incredible. He had 119 receiving yards Okay, receiving yards. He ended up having eight carries for 38 yards. He also had a receiving touchdown, six receptions and yeah, man, absolutely went nuclear to the point of 26.7 fantasy points. That game, john, I think he's going to absolutely go crazy against the Giants this week. Love this start. Fire him up.

Speaker 2:

He had. What was so impressive really was the receiving work. That's not typically his ammo and that's an Antonio Gibson thing. Antonio Gibson missed some of this game and I think that's why he got a lot of this. He's normally getting two targets. His max for the year was four. He got six targets, six catches in that game. Antonio Gibson's questionable again this week. Guys, he doesn't go, which is likely not to go. Ryan Robinson is a smash play. You're absolutely right, man. Yeah, six catches, six targets, 119 yards. He had eight carries for 38 yards. Absolutely. He was the RB one last week. Man, rb one. Brian Robinson RB one last week and a half. Ppr, absolutely. Bananas, very sneaky, but yeah, man, great play. Fire him up. Love that, john.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to stay in the fire with the manders baby. I'm going to go with the QB guys. So again, sam Howl. Okay, I understand in a 12 to 16 man league you're probably sitting there, you might have Stroud, you might have Sam Howl, you might have Sam Howl with that of a Derrick Carr, or maybe you actually ended up having right Gartner Mintchew, or you're battling with a Taylor. Whatever the hell, it is right. Sam Howl is a must start this week.

Speaker 1:

Whether it's DFS or whether it's your normal fantasy football league guys, what this kid is doing is absolutely sensational. He's the number three quarterback on the year. He's the number four overall performing fantasy football player and half PPR. In the last three weeks alone, john, he put up 39 points against the Philadelphia Eagles, put up almost 20 points against the Patriots. In the last week against Seattle, he ended up putting up 28 fantasy points into the tune of what that was, john. He threw for 44 times, completed 29 of those passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns. This kid is on fire right now and he's leading the league in passing yards. John, this is a smash play. Fire him up and enjoy the ride, baby.

Speaker 2:

Look at his past attempts since week five 51, 23 down week, but then the last four games 42, 52, 45, 44. He's throwing the ball 40, 50 times a game. That's insane, that's nuts, it's crazy. It's just a level of volume you must have and because of that and because of this matchup, you've got to fire up Tara McClaren. This is the time you can use Johan Totson. This is the time he's going to score in this game. John Totson, I hate that. I said to drop him before this. Just how it goes. You're going to have stretches of guys not doing shit. Some things are going to change. Teams are going to shift and adjust. Now he's doing well. So, yeah, I love that start man. That's a good one.

Speaker 1:

John, I'm going to shift gears a bit. I'm actually going to go back to Houston here and I think, with the way that they're playing right now Damian Pierce is banged up I'm going to go in the flames with Devin Singletary. This do performed very, very well at Buffalo, has come over here, has played second fiddle pretty much the entire year and slowly is started chipping away to the point where, when Damian Pierce was out last week, you want to know what this boy did 150 yards rushing on 30 carries. He had 11 receiving yards on one touch, on one reception, and also had a touchdown. John, he ended up having 23 fantasy points and a half PPR. Damian Pierce is looking and trending as if he's also not going to play. You then eliminate potentially Noah Brown as well, with Nico Collins banged up and Dalton Schultz even if they do play, they're still going to the tier defenses from stacking the box.

Speaker 1:

Opens up Devin Singletary even more against a atrocious and atrocious. My wife would yell at me for not grammatically talking correctly. I don't even know if that's correct, but whatever, fuck it. Okay, against Arizona, john. A terrible defense against that of the Houston Texans who are red hot with Devin Singletary, with everything to prove I love this start. I am starting him because I have Ramon Jere Stevenson out. I would look to start him. If you have Alvin Kamar out, maybe you also have Bijan Robinson out, or Tyler algae you're out. This is a very good plug in this week for that.

Speaker 2:

That's why, in these deeper leagues, devin Singletary makes a lot of sense and both of these guys, brian Robinson and Devin Singletary these aren't guys you probably have to have either. If you've got the depth, this is a great time. This week they're going to pop off. We promise you sell them high before your trade deadline, which is probably next week for most leagues Could be this week. But yeah, those are two great candidates because, Singletary, it's not going to be like this the rest of the year. It's likely Pierce comes back, could be a split or Pierce takes it over completely. This could be the time to do something with Devin Singletary. Dude 30 carries. Last week 30. Matt touches 30 carries. Insane man. Who else you got? You're on fire this week, by the way, frank, I'm on fire, baby John.

Speaker 1:

I'm rolling in the play. I'm getting the rookie back. A Chan, roll him out. He's ready. He's playing against Vegas. My amy hasn't been the same since he's been gone. Everything is pointing to him going and running full speed. John, I was watching some highlights from the practice today. Six to noon, six to noon. Just think about that. Six to noon. I'm excited, you're excited. That's what's happening. Fire up A Chan baby. Love it this week.

Speaker 2:

Hold on Like one of these. That's exactly right. I'm so happy to get him back. Man Don't know what it's going to look like, but most shirts a little bit banged up. He's not fully healthy either. I do think that A Chan is going to get his dude here. So excited to have him back. Man, love that. All right. Who else you got baby?

Speaker 1:

So we're going to go to tier two. We're going to go in now to more of the eight to 10 man leagues. So, guys, again this is where you're making these very, very difficult decisions between some of the heavy hitters and you're really trying to figure out who do I start? A good example of this is people came out and said do I start Garrett Wilson or Devonte Adams or Keenan Allen in that of what was the other guy? Oh, cd Lamb. You got to pick three of the four who you pick. So this is what this section is for.

Speaker 1:

First guy, I'm listening Jameer Gibbs. John, what Jameer Gibbs has done in the last few weeks has been wonderful. He has absolutely exploded multiple 20 point plus games and half PPR and we're looking at three in a row now. So, going back to week seven, he had 23 against Baltimore. Going back to week, 80 at 28 against that of Vegas by week, and week nine and last week again with David Montgomery back, huge key call out there. He ended up going crazy again, john. He had 14 carries, 17 yards, ended up having three receptions for 35 yards and had two rushing touchdowns. John, they're playing against the Chicago Bears. I get the hype. With Justin Fields coming back. It's going to be exciting for DJ Moore, but I'm telling you right now that defense is not ready to take on the Lions offense right now. Love Jameer Gibbs this week.

Speaker 2:

We've been waiting for so long for Jameer Gibbs. You and I were so high on him early in it we both drafted him. We drafted him. Yeah, we absolutely did. We put our money where our mouth is and it just took a long time to get there.

Speaker 2:

Montgomery going out, being on IR, coming back while he was gone. Frankie, the rankings for Gibbs, the three weeks he played with actually, he only played two weeks with Montgomery gone. They had a buy and he came back last week. He was the running back three, running back two and running back two of them a week with last week with Montgomery back. Here's the thing. We need to talk about this a little bit. I know we're going to do some buy sell candidates after this, but I just want to say right now I think David Montgomery is a sell candidate. He's got tons of value. He's got name value. He is playing very well. He's still going to have a lot of value. But we've seen the shift. We've given Gibbs the opportunity. He seems to be working very well in what they want to do in Detroit. He's getting 60% of the carries right now with Montgomery in there.

Speaker 2:

If that's the case, if you can spare Montgomery and you need to pick up maybe a receiver or you want to try to upgrade to a badass Tide and you've been kind of streaming all year. You don't want to deal with that shit in the playoffs. You got Montgomery and you've got enough room to get rid of them. Trade him high now. If you can trade for Gibbs, it's going to be very difficult after the past couple of weeks he's had Try it, though, because he's absolutely going to be excellent. He has been excellent. Schedule looks really good. They got Chicago twice in the next four weeks Green Bay, new Orleans, denver, minnesota. That's the end of their schedule. I mean, this running, rushing schedule is gorgeous, gorgeous, yeah, so I love it, man, great call.

Speaker 1:

John, we're going to go number two here in the eight to 10 man league. James Connor, james Connor, we're firing him up this week. I'll tell you what with the emergence back of Kyler Murray getting his feet wet last week. And you're starting to see I mean James Connor right Last week alone, john, when he came back talking about a good game 16 carries, 73 yards, I believe, is what it was. 73 yards on 16 carries, excellent. And you're going to see a lot of back from that of right IR and you're playing against the decent defense and that of the Falcons. So now they're going to Houston, to where their defense is not as good as that of the Falcons. They're certainly going to rely on that of James Connor again this week. Love this start, man.

Speaker 2:

I. It's an absolute great call man. Let's look at his schedule moving forward here. We got Houston this week, rams, pittsburgh, then a buy San Francisco, chicago, philly rough playoff schedule, though you know San Francisco and Philly there in the playoffs, so that's, that's kind of brutal, you know, play him in the right spots. But yeah, absolutely love James Connor, especially the next two weeks, for sure, no question.

Speaker 1:

John. Number three is going to be Trey McBride. Guys, I'm beating this horn here. I'm, I'm, I'm beating this drum. This is something and I'm talking to him.

Speaker 2:

I mean, can you, can you physically show me how to beat a horn? Can you tell me, show me how you play that when you beat the?

Speaker 1:

I've been practicing it.

Speaker 1:

The Trey McBride is absolutely somebody that needs to be Started it. Whether it's an eight-man league or whether it's actually a 14-man league, it doesn't matter. You need to have him on your team, especially with Kyler Murray, guys. I mean what we saw last week with the Falcons. It was pretty incredible. He had a hundred and thirty one receiving yards. He had eight receptions and went absolutely crazy. John, and the amount of targets that he had. He had nine in the last three weeks he had 14, five and nine targets. His receptions in the last three weeks combined is 21. 21 receptions from a tight end in three weeks is Stupid, guys. This is a must start. Kyler Murray is absolutely looking at him as the check down guy. He always has had an affiliation to that of the tight ends. We saw it with Zach Erts right when he was there and even before that. Guys, this is a grand slam here. Trey McBride, fire him up.

Speaker 2:

Definitely man. Big surprise, not guy, that was drafted at all. But when you can find these gem tight ends like that that just give you such an advantage that you probably paid nothing for it's just Wonderful man, great call. I love it.

Speaker 1:

Done this last one here. I'm a little bit hesitant. This is a stretch for me and I want to be very crystal clear. He's a little banged up and the offense has got awful shit. It might be the worst offense I've ever seen in the NFL. And that's not me being even like facetious or joke like. That's truly like. I think this might actually be the worst offense I've ever seen.

Speaker 1:

Seyquan Barkley at the Washington commanders. Seyquan had the worst matchup of all time last week against that of the Dallas Cowboys. They knew exactly what they wanted to do and how they wanted to do it. It's stacked a box and literally throw everything at Seyquan and it was effective. I mean, it was extremely effective, john.

Speaker 1:

He ended up having 66 yards on 13 carries, which is still impressive, if I'm being completely honest with you and he also had one reception for negative five yards. He ended up having six points and half PPR not super great. That's also not going to be the case when you're playing Washington without chase young and Montez sweat, because remember, they traded those guys away. So now we look at a more realistic Threshold. What did he do against Washington last time? Well, I can tell you 21 carries, 77 yards, 41 yards, receiving on three receptions and a receiving touchdown to the tune of 16 fantasy points, and that if half PPR. I see that being real. I think that that's going to be a very real possibility If Seyquan can go fire him up and let's see what he can do.

Speaker 2:

I Love it, man. I love it that. That is a risk. I mean, everybody knows he's getting the ball. There's nobody else that's gonna do anything on this team. Man, maybe a desperation? Wanda Robinson picks up a really shitty duck, pass from the air and goes.

Speaker 1:

Maybe breeding spelling that of Seyquan Barkley.

Speaker 2:

Oh my god, don't even bring up Matt. That's how bad break. Yeah, all right, man, who do you sit this week? Who do you not like this week?

Speaker 1:

Easy, easy, number one Chuba Hubbard. Stay away, and I'm gonna lump in Miles Sanders guys. It's not because I don't like these guys. Chuba Hubbard's actually been pretty, pretty interesting. They're playing Dallas, that's all you got to know. Chuba Hubbard and the Carolina Panthers, who have won or I believe it's won win for the year, going against a team that might be the hottest team in the NFL right now, and so for me, man, that's a no-go. Dallas defense is gonna eat Chuba alive and we'll probably destroy Bryce young, so I think you should sit him.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I can't argue with that. I mean, in my mind you sit the whole fucking team, the Carolina.

Speaker 1:

Panthers. This week man Lump him in with my second guy, adam.

Speaker 1:

Thielen, the old man out of your lineup man, if you can get, get old, old man rivers out, you know, because it's just been pretty brutal as of late, man, because Adam Thielen, I mean he's, he's come back to life, john. After that, by week he ended up having a decent showing against that of Houston, to, where he had 11 points on 72 yards and eight receptions, but then he only had five points against that of the Colts, and then last week he had seven points against that of the Chicago Bears, which she should have been way better than that. So for me, man, when you're playing against Stefan Gilmore, who's gonna be lining up against you? Yeah, that's gonna be a problem with Micah Parsons in your faces as Bryce young. So for me, man, I'm not willing to roll out Adam Thielen and what's probably a must win week for many people, yeah, agreed, john, this next guy, you know it sucks because this is one of your champ or, excuse me, this is, yeah, one of your champions, and this was a guy who it's been a tough sledding this year. I mean really tough sledding, and I'm talking, I'm talking pickings here, george pickings, horthay pickings Against that of the Browns Okay, the Browns, I mean, with everything going on with the Sean Watson. You're telling me that, knowing what the Steelers did last time when they had to break away with that of pickings, and that was the only big play. And the issue with Chubb right, let's call it what it is, chubb got injured last game against them. They're not out for revenge.

Speaker 1:

I'm telling you, man, this is a week that I'm not super high on George Pickens. Now. He always has that opportunity. He's one of those guys that is very, very similar. I put him in the same boat as, like a Mike Evans in this realm. In terms of that, dude has the ability better yet Michael Pittman Jr. He always has the ability to break one deep down the middle. He's running a seam or if he's running a go route, the dude is special hands. But the way that this front seven is playing for the Browns, john, in an rivalry game at home, I'm staying away from pickings and level setting my expectations.

Speaker 2:

In pickings has been really difficult and frustrating. I mean, it's just like you said. He had that breakaway touchdown against the Browns. That's his fantasy value. Yeah, it's breakaway touchdowns. That's really difficult.

Speaker 2:

First of all, it's impossible to predict, but it's really hard to feel good about sticking a guy out there that may get three looks and has to break one of them. Now, with Deontay Johnson back, it's clear Deontay Johnson is the number one. He's, yeah, I mean all the, the shade and the hate and all that stuff while he was injured. That was all bullshit. Pickings is not taking over the wide receiver one role, I mean he's. He's definitely a red zone threat. He's definitely the. You know the young sexy, you know sports car. Deontay Johnson is an excellent receiver. He's the. He's the guy getting all the targets.

Speaker 2:

So, yeah, I don't like starting pickings, especially with this pass rush. This defense we don't even need to talk about this. This defense is incredible. I can't even believe I'm saying that. But yeah, I mean you can't, and not only that. Picket cannot support two guys. No, not, there's not enough volume in this Pittsburgh passing offense to be able to support Deontay and Pickets. You got to hope that he gets that breakaway touchdown, like you said. Now the running backs I think you could start Deontay Johnson against the Browns, assuming he plays. He's a little banged up and questionable. The running backs I think you can start. I don't love it, but I think they're gonna get a ton of work from the back or out of the backfield in the passing game. They're gonna have to get to do that to get out of this. This pass rush picket has not been a great quarterback. They're gonna need to have these dump offs to the, to the running backs, so I think that's where their value will come quick.

Speaker 1:

Well, she got better. It's gonna be coming at him. Quick hits to your point, john. Yeah, john, the last sit is my champion. God, it sucks, and I hate saying this. Calvin Ridley, calvin Ridley versus that of Tennessee Titans, john, you know what?

Speaker 2:

is there? Is there that much difference really of Calvin Ridley and George Pickens? That is a brilliant comparison, because they're really the same guy right now, are they not? They are, and if you would, Well, okay, yeah, yes and no.

Speaker 1:

Yes, because the Calvin Ridley has been known for the breakaway Touchdowns. Even when he's playing with Julio Matt Ryan, like that is where he was dominating in average His average cat or a route percentage or deep balls. What I'm trying to say, depth of target.

Speaker 2:

I have a great target.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, was significant, so very similar to that of George Pickens. The difference is, I think Calvin Ridley is a little more refined in the way he runs his routes. I think that's just because George Pickens is still younger, still figuring it out, also has a Probably not probably definitely a shittier quarterback. So right, it's just. But yes, that is a great comparison in terms of the route running and in the type of average depth for target things like that. What sucks with Calvin Ridley man is Doug Peterson even came out and said it's not for a lack of us not trying to get him targets, and so that's tough, which means that it's two options. It means that Trevor Lawrence isn't hitting him or the defense is trying to remove Calvin Ridley and it's definitely a mix of both. And Calvin Ridley is still a top tier receiver, no question about it, similar to that of Pickens. I absolutely would put him in that Tar in that realm because of the insane catches that he's. That he makes a very similar, actually a good comparison to Pickens John would be throwback here.

Speaker 1:

Brandon Lloyd for the San Francisco 49ers years ago, so underrated, unbelievable catching capability, downhill only type of receiver. Brilliant Ridley man. This sucks because what we're looking at from Ridley over the last four weeks what he's done, guys. He did he had one point against that of the New Orleans Saints. He had 11 points against that of Pittsburgh. So he caught eight, four or six for 83 yards, and then last week three points. And so, john, this is tough because he had ten targets against Pittsburgh. He had four targets against New Orleans, he had three targets against San Fran. So when Doug Peterson comes out and says that he's drawing up plays to target Calvin Ridley, it goes back to Trevor Lawrence. Is he need, is he's not hitting him or not seeing him, or he's over covered. So for me, man, I'm not willing to risk it. You still might have to start him, unfortunately in one league. I will still need to start Calvin Ridley. But I'm telling you, guys, there's probably better options out there. I'm sitting Calvin Ridley this week.

Speaker 2:

It hurts your soul, I know it does, man. Yeah, let's talk. We got a couple minutes here. Let's talk about a few buy and sell candidates here. We've got the trade deadline looming for most leagues. Let's talk about a couple of guys that that we're looking at buying here. Frank, who do you think are good buy candidates right now?

Speaker 1:

John, I think an excellent, excellent buy candidate right away for me is gonna be Devon H Ham, right. The reason being is now is the time. Now is the time to buy him. If you wait until next week, it's gonna be too late. If he explodes again this week, or even as a double-digit week, you're gonna have to offer triple of what you did, because now, oh, people remember that he's actually that guy, or should I say quote-unquote? The hymn award which ESPN does is kind of hilarious. So he's him right. So for me, man Devon H Ham tried to buy him. Now the Miami Dolphins are going to use him down the stretch. The Miami Dolphins are in a battle for the playoffs. They need this guy to pop off. John, their offense has stalled out when, when he hasn't been on the field and I think with him coming back, it's going to explode. This is a guy you can buy right now.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I love that man. We talked about it briefly in the news but yeah, absolutely I want to talk about a guy here that I think you should buy. It's Jerome Ford for the Cleveland Browns Interesting, it's Jerome Ford. He's the running back 21 right now. In a half PPR Past couple of weeks he's had decent games, he's been in double digits.

Speaker 2:

But the thing I like about Jerome Ford right now he's you know, that backfield was definitely a little questionable. He got hurt. We had, you know, green Hunt come in and we've got Pierre Strong in there. Really, really, you know just kind of murky what that backfield was doing. Jerome Ford is the number one running back. He's 60% of the snaps. He's 68% of the carries out of the backfield. He is the guy They'll throw in hunts like they used to do with Chubb and mix things up. But it is Jerome Ford who's the guy right now.

Speaker 2:

But the schedule moving forward is really what I love, man. After this week, after Pittsburgh, they've got Denver, the Rams, jacksonville, chicago and Houston into your playoffs. Man, I mean, this is a wonderful schedule. So I think that Jerome Ford is a guy that I think maybe a lot of guys are just like eh, he's just OK, couple double digit games. He's going to get in there. He hasn't scored, for you know, since four weeks ago. That will change. He's going to be getting the ball quite a bit. You're going to have DTR, or potentially one of these other guys they could bring in in the next coming weeks, and at Denver, at LA, jacksonville, chicago, houston yeah, man, You're going to want to play that to finish your year. That's nice, all right.

Speaker 1:

Who else you like here to buy Frank John? This one's kind of interesting because a lot of people are like, well, no shit. But it's kind of not like that. It's DJ Moore, dj Moore. Over the last three weeks, john, he's had 7.5 points. He's had 2.9 points. He's had 8.4 points. When we look at his targets, he's had 6, 5, and 9.

Speaker 1:

Now the reason why I say buys is because people are staring at him. Noid is all hell, because Tyson Badgent, who was the guy that came in their quarterback, who filled in for that of Justin Fields, they tried to get him the ball, but he's just not that great of a quarterback and so the play all around for the receiver standpoint, significantly, was down. So now, if you have an opportunity to maybe get a guy who's on the fence, or maybe they're just absolute shit, the team is 2 and 8, 1 and 9, whatever the hell it is or 3 and 7, and they have DJ Moore, try to pluck him. Put DJ Moore as a flex spot because, john, what we have is they're playing a Detroit team who's good, but they're going to need to throw the ball. They're going to play against Minnesota.

Speaker 1:

Love that matchup. They have that 13 week by week, which sucks. But then they have Detroit, again Cleveland. But here's why I love him. If you can get into the playoffs, arizona or the Semis and the Falcons for your Super Bowl Guys, this is real. The other reason why this makes a lot of sense too, john, is because the Bears from an NFL standpoint, I would assume are heavily evaluating Justin Fields throughout the rest of the season. The reason being is because they're going to have a top pick in the NFL draft. There's a lot of fucking good quarterbacks out there. Justin Fields is going to need to show out, and so that's why I think DJ Moore could be a home run for what you could pay for him right now. I love that man.

Speaker 2:

I want to talk about one more receiver to the buy right now before we go Deontay Johnson. I started looking into this. Deontay Johnson is a buy candidate right now Since he came back from the injury in week seven, six targets, 14 targets, nine targets. Last week he had four targets. Now the game plan there clearly was to run the ball on that Green Bay Rush defense their past defenses heads above their Rush defense. They ran the ball and they threw the ball pretty much. I think it was 75% of the time two tight ends and running backs in that game. So this is a great time to buy him.

Speaker 2:

People may be disappointed. They haven't really used him all year, but target him. He plays five bottom 10 secondaries coming up here after this game with Cleveland. The matchups are sweet. He gets the targets. He's going to get the volume Trade for Deontay Johnson. He can really help you out coming into the stretch here. All right, let's talk about a few guys here Quickly, frank, of guys that we're looking to sell. Who can we sell right now? Are any of these guys sell high candidates or they just sell their asses?

Speaker 1:

John, there's definitely gonna be. So I'll tell you what. The one guy that I'm saying sell his ass is Calvin Ridley. If you can get him off your team and pick up a guy, you're gonna have to. The problem is you're gonna have to package together somebody.

Speaker 1:

I'm always everybody laughs at me, it is what it is. I get it. I'm a package guy, I'm a two for one, three for one, but it works really well because then you're getting and having perceived additional value when you're trading off a guy like that of Calvin Ridley. So maybe you could package together Calvin Ridley and a James Cook John to get you maybe somebody that's a little bit higher tier of a running back. It's not that much, but maybe it's like that of a Rashad White and then a Gabe Davis, right? So you're now you're swapping Calvin Ridley, whose name value, and a James Cook, with a Rashad White and Gabe Davis.

Speaker 1:

I'm probably taking that, but it's just. It's just to offset. If you're going to have a boom bus guy, have a boom bus guy. That's what I'm trying to say. Calvin Ridley, unfortunately, is a decoy and that's what sucks. And so for me, man, knowing I'm going into a playoff push, knowing many of you are going into a playoff push. Try to offload him and then look elsewhere. I don't know what your thoughts are on that, john.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I agree, I'm with you 100%, man. Yeah, a couple of guys that I'm looking at selling and it sucks that he's hurt and unlikely to play this week. But it's Noah Brown. I think it's just the perfect time to take advantage of those giant games that he had, because there's not really any chance that's going to continue. Nico Collins, tank Dell they're going to alternate who's doing what here. So when it comes to that, I think you try to get the most value. I mean the guy had 150 yards and back to back. I mean that's likely to not continue with this Houston team, so try to sell him high.

Speaker 2:

We talked about David Montgomery. I think he's a great sell high candidate. I think you can get a lot for him. There are so many teams that need running backs right now and I think a lot of guys are going to think that Montgomery is going to be exactly what he was before with that type of volume. I don't think the numbers are going to shake out that way, looking at how things have gone, man. We also talked about Brian Robinson, great trade high candidate. After this week he is going to blow up this week. Trade his ass, get a goddamn solid receiver. You can get, you'll be able to say hey, man, I've got the running back three right now that I want to trade to you, I expect a wide receiver one out of this. I think you can get somebody, john to that point.

Speaker 1:

Guys, I actually just did this and it was a brilliant trade on both sides. Somebody needed a running back right, their running back was hurt and they were on buy weeks. They didn't have a running back. I needed a better tight end, so I packaged together Brian Robinson and Dalton Schultz to get Mark Andrews. That is a good trade because I had all the depth in the world. I was never going to start the number three running back, as insane as that sounds, right Like. So from that like I had Derek Henry and Rashad White and unfortunately I really wouldn't start Brian Robinson on a week to week basis over those guys and I didn't want to keep making that decision. So for me, if I can upgrade my tight end to a top tier guy and offload Brian Robinson, help out another guy right. That was a beautiful trade. So there might be something like that in your leagues to keep in mind as well.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, and there's some other things. We're getting close to playoff time, guys. It's time to really start looking at the schedules. Look at what you've got when you're making trades. You've got week 13 buy coming up. That's such garbage by the NFL. Or by the NFL week 14 buy Look at that stuff. Look at who you have. Even if it's an even trade, if it's the same same guy that you're looking at here. Make the trade to save yourself from that buy week, if you can. Those are little tips that can help you out here so you're not missing players when you're gonna need them the most. Or maybe you're sitting high and you know you're gonna hit the playoffs. You don't need to do that. But if you're fighting for your life, look at those things. Every little bit helps. Try to trade a guy to a future opponent that you know is gonna have a 13 or 14 buy. That way you can fuck your opponent while you also get a guy that can play that week. Start looking at defenses schedules as well. It's time to start not quite yet, because you're probably still fighting to get into the playoffs, but the last couple of weeks of the season here, start putting some defenses on your bench, if you can, that are gonna line up for the playoffs that have great schedules. We'll be doing that segment in an episode coming up before the playoffs to see what defenses you should be stashing right now. Yeah, the other thing you should look at doing before your trade deadline if you're in a single quarterback league and you've got a good quarter you've got a Josh Allen or a Jalen Hertz I am great with taking the risk of not needing a backup quarterback on my team.

Speaker 2:

Unload them. There are so many shitty quarterbacks starting in the league right now. There's guys that are starting Aiden O'Connell and Jordan Love. Just so many guys are not performing and so many other guys are just absolutely awful. So start looking at that. For instance, I picked up CJ Stroud. I had Jalen Hertz on a buy. I ended up trading because I wanted to win that week, picked up CJ Stroud and did. It was wonderful. But now I've got Stroud and Jalen Hertz, I'm unloading. I'm just trying to get anything for him. I'm not trying to go crazy here, but maybe if I can make a CJ Stroud for a Kyren Williams who's out, that's the trade I'm trying to put together. He's a league winner. We talked about him last week to pick up. So look at that kind of stuff, guys. Don't waste assets on your team. Don't let guys just sit on your bench at this time of year. Get your starters looking good. Have a backup, a playable guy and running back and receiver that you can run with. But start looking at solidifying quarterback, tight end defense and if you've got extras of those, turn them into usable pieces now, before it's too late.

Speaker 2:
