Speaker 2:I love this episode because we're going to track it all year long. We give each other shit. We will be drafting our champions. We do that, yes, but we give each other shit all throughout the season because, man, it's tough, there's a lot of variables and sometimes they hit, sometimes they do not, man, but we love planting our flag on guys. You know we're kind of ambiguous, we're. You know we give you the information.
Speaker 2:We don't take hard stances on guys, typically when we hey, we're also going to be talking about a lot of news to get through guys. We're going to be talking about the news a lot of signings, a lot of cuts, a lot of guys starting on the pup, a lot of information. We're going to need it's changed some of the dynamics, some of the backfields. We're going to discuss that Also. We're going to discuss some guys that we think talked about. We know what the ADP looks like now. We know what your draft board's looking like, and there's some guys on there that I think are too low. I think they're going to return a ton of value. We want to touch on a few of those guys. There's also some guys I'm not touching. I wouldn't touch with your dick, frank. Ooh, that's saying something. Let me tell you it is saying something. Yeah, oh yeah, because I'll touch anything, pretty much Anything. Just put it in front of them and it's touched, especially with your dick. 100%, I'll touch anything. Speaker 2:All right, let's get into the news. Baby news and notes. All right, we've got some answers, frank, we've gotten some answers on the contracts. We've been watching these contracts so everybody can just sigh of relief here. Cd Lamb good to go. He signed four-year, $136 million, $100 million guaranteed. Woo, good for you, cd, let's go. Good for you, cd. He got p-p-p-paid, so sign him with confidence. Good to go there. Brandon Ayuk all this drama's done Finally signs a deal with the 49ers Four years, $120 million, $76 million guaranteed. All right, we can sigh of relief there. He did not destroy George Pickens' value, so that's great. Staying with the Niners All right. Jamar Chase, he's still not practicing. Frank, uh, friday that we're recording this episode and we still have no jamar chase signing. So this is real. If you're drafting this weekend and we don't have an answer, what are you doing with jamar chase? You're on the top of the draft there. What do you do?
Speaker 1:yeah, guys, I'm not going for him. I'm not taking him right now. The only reason why? Now again, if he drops and we're talking back half of the first round, of course you take him at that point. But I'm not taking him at three, I'm not taking him at four, I'm not taking him at five, right, that is where he's actually landing. So for me, man, I'm putting people in front like amin ra, I'm putting bijan and brice and these other guys that I know are anchored and I don't have to worry about the drama happening. You know, and even though John, yeah, he'll probably be okay, but for me and my team and how I'm managing it, I am not willing to put the risk in. If we're still questioning where he's going to be, I'm waiting to the back half of the first to draft him man.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm with you on that A hundred percent. I'm putting Amin Ra in front of him, I'm putting Brees and Bijan in front of him and then when we're, you know, in that first round of the draft, I may even look at a Jameer Gibbs in front of him. At that point I really may. It's going to be difficult. So yeah, draft with caution. He could be fine, it could be nothing. But again, with my anchor on my team and the guy I'm taking in the top five picks, I don't want a guy who may miss one or two weeks. I just don't want that on my team.
Speaker 1:John and on top of it, real quick, there in one of their call-out, apparently he's asking for one penny more than Justin Jefferson, which is interesting, so just wanted to throw that out there.
Speaker 2:Well, let's talk Justin Jefferson while we're at it. He's kind of off my board, frank, is that a hot take?
Speaker 1:That's a hot take. Say it again. Say it with your chest, Johnny.
Speaker 2:Listen, he's in my boy band. This hurts me to say. He's the bass player of my boy band and I'm upset about it. Okay, he's another guy I want to lick his chest with DK Metcalf, aj Brown, jalen Hurts yeah, but man, I'm telling you, it's just based on the opportunity and what's in front of him. You know, I mean, it's almost as if he's very similar to me, as like a Malik Neighbors. I don't think there's going to be that big of separation between Malik Neighbors and Justin Jefferson. Just saying you got Sam Darnold throwing him the ball. I just don't love it. Tj Hawkinson's on Pup as well. I just don't love it. Man, I'm putting a lot of people in front of Justin Jefferson. I'm taking Justin Jefferson. I'm considering JJ in the first round on the turn with Garrett Wilson and Puka Nakua. I've got him in that tier. I have him above those two in that tier. But that's where I'm taking JJ. It's going to be at the turn, it's not going to be up towards the front of that first round.
Speaker 1:I think you're fucking crazy. That's what I think, john. I think you're fucking crazy. I think that yeah he's. I don't think he's a fourth overall. I don't think he's a fifth overall, I don't think he's. I think he's right around that six, seven, eight overall spot for me because, john, when he, when he had kirk cousins, he was averaging 21 roughly point fantasy points, a game Without Kirk Cousins he was still averaging 22. Now, again, this is a big jump down from what he's seen previously to your point. So, yeah, I think that there certainly could be a loss of value, but I think that's a spicy take and I love that you said it, because go fuck yourself and I'll take Justin Jefferson, all right.
Speaker 2:Interesting news here out of the Rams out of Los Angeles. Sean McVay said that Kyron Williams is going to be returning punts. Very strange news, man. Yeah, this is something where you go wait a second. This is a second round workhorse running back that I'm looking at anchoring my team and now this motherfucker is going to be returning punts. They're going to throw him out there just to the cannon fodder. I mean, that's just like hey, we don't care about this guy, he's going to die. Let's put him out returning punts. What does this news mean to you, frank? Is it just, is it nothing? Is it making a you know something out of nothing or what's going on? No, it's something, it's something you never know.
Speaker 1:No team, no team in the NFL would put their starting running back as their punt returner who has already had injury problems. Guys, he was banged up this offseason. And then you draft, they draft Blake Corum. In the first few early rounds, I believe he was the third or fourth overall round pick in the NFL draft. So for me, man, what this is saying is hey, kyron, you're our number one. We're also going to get you some more touches from the punt return game. But if you're reading between the lines, man, for me this is saying Blake Corum, blake Corum is going to get the rock. So I'm just saying I don't think it's going to be a 1A, 1b, but I'm saying just get ready when he has his opportunity in Blake Corum.
Speaker 2:I think he could take it. I think it could turn Blake Corum into more of a Tajay Spears type player. Yeah, I think that's what it's going to do. I don't think they're going to have him running a full work Kyron running a full workload and returning punts. That's what I'm saying. It's just going to give Blake Korn more opportunity to get more drives. I don't think he's going to come in on third downs, anything like that. I think he'll actually work an entire drive and do that more often. So I think it'll be more of a Tajay Spears type situation to where I don't think it really hurts Kyron Williams in my mind. Necessarily, I'm still okay with his draft position and his value, but it boosts Blake Corham for me, a guy that I already wanted to have on my bench at the end of the draft to have as a potential league winner, as a guy who could step in in case there's an injury. I think it just it increased him and it also increases the odds of an injury to Kyron Williams running punts. It just does guys. That's how this works.
Speaker 2:All right, let's move on here. All right, we got some guys that are returning to full practice, which is fantastic. This is the news we want to see right before the season starts. Pukunukua, full practice Great news. Mike Williams will play week one full practice Great news there, great news. Yeah, we've got some decisions on some quarterbacks here.
Speaker 2:I don't think anything's a huge surprise or changing much in fantasy, but Jacoby Bursette named the Pats starter. It's interesting. They were talking a lot about Drake May. I think really what they're doing with Bursette is I don't think they want to throw Drake May out there to just get killed with a bad team, probably not going to move the ball a whole lot. I think they wanted to be kinder to Drake May and start the guy with a little more leadership, a guy with some experience out there with Jacoby Brissette. I will say not a lot of guys I'm interested on with this Pats team. If you get Ramondre, if he falls, he's going to have volume. I don't know how efficient he's going to be with that volume, but I don't hate him if he falls to you.
Speaker 2:But what this does, I am warming up to Jalen Polk. He's the rookie receiver drafted by the Pats. Looks really good in the preseason, look really good in camp and it's a guy, a flyer pick. We talked about him on our flyers episode. He's one of those guys you can take as your last pick. See if something's there, because if there's going to be any juice on that team, I think it's going to come from the rookie receiver. Okay, uh, let's keep moving here. We got a few signings. Uh, oh, I'm sorry, we got russell wilson. We got to talk about russell wilson, named qb1. Now this preseason, I mean, did you learn anything about these quarterbacks at all? The preseason seemed really rough for Russell Wilson. Are you concerned about that or do you think he's going to be okay in that offense, john?
Speaker 1:I'll tell you the thing I learned is that it's a way closer QB competition than what I even initially thought Like. I think that if Russ actually he's on a shorter leash than halfway through the year is what I was projecting earlier on when we were talking John. Yeah, we could see a switch around Thanksgiving, see what happens, give the Steelers a new life. I'm thinking three or four weeks, bro, If he's not performing at a high level, there could absolutely be that pivotal point to where we're going to rock with Justin Fields and see what happens. So, yeah, I think it's way closer than what everybody anticipated. That's what I think is going to be interesting to see.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and he didn't give me a lot of confidence. I mean, george Pickens is a guy that I love. This year the fact that Brandon Ayuk did not go to Pittsburgh and completely destroy George Pickens' value, I love. If I can get Pickens as my flex receiver, I am so happy with that. I think he's going to be a touchdown machine. We can actually see him become an alpha.
Speaker 2:But I'm nervous about Russell Wilson. I'm nervous about the quarterback play. You know, we didn't see them light up the scoreboard at all in the preseason. It was rough. I mean, it looked rough, didn't show me anything about them. So I've got hesitation there for sure, also real hesitation. I was saying before that I would like Russell Wilson if I can wait on quarterback and a two quarterback or a super flex to get him as my super flex. That's changed. I don't feel that way. I don't. If you had lit everything up and looked great, it'd have been a different story. But it might be a slow start for those guys. I think they're going to play defense and run the ball quite a bit early on until they get in the groove.
Speaker 2:Okay, let's move on here. We've got a couple of irrelevant signings. Samajeh Pirine signs with the Chiefs. A little bit of depth. In the backfield. Dalvin Cook signs with the Cowboys.
Speaker 2:Definitely murky backfield there. Um, I'm not worried about dalvin cook, necessarily. I think that's just for some depth. He didn't really do anything, uh, on the jets either, when he even was the starter there for a little while. Um, so I'm not really worried about that. But it's very muddy between rico dowdle and, uh, zeke elliott. Somebody's going to emerge. I think there's going to be some value there. But just, you know, monitor, that You're looking at it with your fourth and fifth running back probably. So I'm still okay with drafting one of these guys just to see if you can catch something.
Speaker 2:All right, we've got some guys out for the season here. Some really interesting news that changes some backfields. Frank, we just did our handcuff episode and I think we're going to have to add a guy as a top handcuff here. You know we've had some clarity now with the backups in this backfield San Francisco, elijah Mitchell. He's been a backup for CMC for a couple of years now. He is out for the season season-ending IR. That brings Jordan Mason as the clear backup and clear handcuff for CMC. Is this a guy you're looking at if you are the CMC owner. Are you desperately going after Jordan Mason at the end of your draft Must?
Speaker 1:draft. Let me repeat must draft if you are the CMC owner and if you're not, must draft. Don't forget about this guy. Just because you your adp on your espn sheet or sleeper sheet or yahoo sheet, whatever you're using right, has him way down the board. Guys, with your last pick, take somebody like this because it could be absolutely game-changing. God forbid something happens to cmc. So 100 john, he's a must draft player with your last or second to last pick.
Speaker 2:So let's talk about this next guy and we've got some clarity also in the backfield in Green Bay. Really interesting here. Aj Dillon is out for the season, all right, and he was going to dig in a little bit to Josh Jacobs workload, but now I mean, I'm sorry man, josh Jacobs has become a huge, huge value. What does this do for you with?
Speaker 1:Josh Jacobs value. What does this do for you? With Josh Jacobs, I think that you can draft him now as your RB1 and feel real cozy about it Again. You don't have to reach for this guy, john. We just did For those of you who are interested in seeing well, if you're in a 12-man league, full PPR, where can you draft him? We just did it. So check out that episode, john. It's going to be right up here. Go ahead and give it a look.
Speaker 1:Guys, the interesting thing is, I'm the one who drafted him. It was the third round is where you can get him. So if you're getting your RB1, that is going to be a pure workhorse in the third round. Knowing you can get two stud receivers a stud receiver and a top tier QB this is now a perfect scenario for you to go after this guy, because he could return at least a round value next year, knowing that, yeah, he could probably be a second rounder right in next round's draft. So for me, man, yes, this definitely changes the tone um or should I say tune for that of drafting um, josh jacobs. I definitely would target him that strategy works really well.
Speaker 2:Now to where you can draft two stud receivers and come back with a josh jacobs. Maybe two months ago I didn't feel that cozy about that, now I do. Yeah, absolutely great strategy there. All right, a couple of guys uh, out on the pup here. Obj odell beckham jr is going to start off on the pup. That's a minimum of four games to start the season. Uh, two running backs we know about already, that's not a surprise. Jonathan Brooks, rookie running back for the Carolina Panthers on the pup at least four games out. Nick Chubb running back on the Browns on the pup as well. Listen, keep an eye on these guys. We've talked about it in our mock drafts. Everybody gives Frankie shit on YouTube because he drafts Nick Chubb in every mock draft we've done.
Speaker 1:We'll always do it.
Speaker 2:And I seem to draft Jonathan Brooks a lot as well. It's a guy that I really like. These are guys you're going to have to wait on. These are guys that could be league winners, though, so pay attention to that. But as you're drafting, you can't just draft willy-nilly. Take these guys that are on the pup because they are going to be a roster clock the pup because they are going to be a roster clock. So you got to know what you're doing there. You've got to have running backs at least three running backs that you're going to be able to play in front of Nick Chubb or Jonathan Brooks, and then you got to watch your bench. You can't clog it up with other guys you're going to wait on. You can't draft Nick Chubb and Jonathan Brooks on your team because you've got two stud running backs that are going to be sitting on your bench, maybe five, six weeks potentially, before you can use them. So don't handcuff yourself that way. Don't don't uh put yourself in a corner to where you've got. Uh, you can't play the waiver wire, you can't grab some of these guys. There's always week one, week two. There are always somebody who comes out of nowhere that you're going to spend some money on that. You end up playing quite a bit, you know, week to week. So watch that with your roster construction. Okay, kendra Miller starting off on the IR as well. We talked about that a few episodes ago.
Speaker 2:Oh, this one makes me a little happy, it makes you a little sad. This is a guy that you and I disagree on greatly. The Chiefs have cut. Kadarius Tony Good Good. See ya, bon voyage, kadarius Tony Good Good. See ya, bon voyage, kadarius Tony. How dare you tempt me to draft you and put you on my team and get nothing out of you? I can never start you in the right time or the right place. Goodbye, hillside somewhere. But I'm still not putting him on my team. No, no. Kendrick Bourne starting off in the pup as well. Tj Hawkinson starting on the pup. So four games for TJ Hawkinson. He's getting drafted in all these mock drafts, so make sure you're not drafting TJ Hawkinson guys.
Speaker 2:This one's really interesting too. Keaton Mitchell, a running back for the Baltimore Ravens. He flashed like he was a rookie last year and flashed man. He had a great season before he got hurt. Big time juice out of this guy Going to be on the pup, missing at least four games. So what does that do for you? Now? What does this news do for you? We just talked about King Henry. We just did a. Would you Rather between King Henry and Travis Etienne? Does this change things for you, knowing that the only person really behind him is Justice Hill?
Speaker 1:John, I think that this definitely moves Derrick Henry up the board. For me it just does. I mean he's going to be the judge, jury and executioner in that backfield. You layer on the threat of Lamar Jackson, you layer on Mark Andrews coming out and hopefully performing at 100%, and then you have Zay Flowers and Rashad Bateman and a few others, john this, yes With Keaton Mitchell out. Now Derrick Henry is a three down back, no question about it. We saw in Tennessee what he can do if he gets a screen. We saw in Tennessee what happens if he can get a little flare route. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it usually pans out very well. So what I'm getting at is, even outside of a short yardage play, john, derrick Henry might be catching more passes as well. So I think that, everything set aside, I think that this definitely rises Derrick Henry a bit, are you?
Speaker 2:putting him above Travis Etienne at this point. Damn it.
Speaker 1:I knew you were going to say that I'm going to stick to what we had said last time. Though If you are in a half PPR, full PPR, it's very hard to not draft Travis Etienne there. I mean just a guy who's getting 70 plus targets. You can't replicate that Like. Derrick Henry won't even come close to that. He might not even get half of that in terms of a target share. So if you're doing PPR, john, it's got to be Travis Etienne. If it's standard, it's a hundred percent, no question about it. Derek Henry, half PPR, flip a coin man, because you can go either route.
Speaker 2:All right. Derek Henry or Kyron Williams. Derek Henry, not even close. Derek Henry or Saquon Barkley. Saquon Barkley, ooh, not going to pull you off, saquon huh. Derrick henry or isaiah pacheco. Derrick henry, not even close. Derrick henry or jonathan taylor I'm gonna go jt.
Speaker 1:I'm gonna go jt. That one's tough, that one's close. That's close because jt does not get a lot of receptions out of the backfield. He is a very much so a pure running style guy. I I'm going to go JT just because of a rich. I don't think that there could be some issues there. From what we've seen in the preseason he hasn't made some right reads so they could definitely be really loading up JT's workload there. So I'm slightly leaning JT. But you can totally make a case and nobody's going to be mad at you if you go Derrick Henry over JT. Actually, we saw that, john. We saw that with Ian, who drafted Derrick Henry at the end of the first round due to the Keaton Mitchell being on the pup list. So I think that you can make an argument in a 12-14 man league Last pick, you can make an argument for Derrick.
Speaker 2:Henry. All right, I want to stay with the Ravens here. Let's just discuss a few guys here. Okay, there's some guys that are rising and falling. We know what the ADP looks like. We know what the board looks like. We were waiting on some suspensions. Maybe we were waiting to see if guys got back to practice. Some of the backfields have changed, like we talked about. All right, let's talk about a few guys. We'll stay in Baltimore. I'm not hearing a lot about Zay Flowers, and that upsets me. It upsets me, it does. I don't see a lot of guys talking about him. We haven't talked about him, maybe because not much has changed. It's kind of status quo. Talk a little bit about Zay Flowers, though, because I think he's being forgotten a tad.
Speaker 1:John, I definitely think he's being forgotten a tad. I mean his ADP is 61. His receiver rank, his ECR, is 27. So what does that mean in layman terms? Adp average draft position 61 in a 10-man league, that's sixth round. 12-man league, it's back fifth. Okay, john, this guy is the receiver in Baltimore going into his second year after a wonderful rookie year. It's not like he was just average. It's not like he was like oh yeah, we can totally see the trajectory. He's up and coming. Love that. No, no, no, he was that guy and did very, very well.
Speaker 1:And the other thing is, especially in like, zay Flowers is one of those guys, man, that can be dynamic in every type of league format. What I mean by that is, if you're in a standard league where a point per reception isn't a thing, it's okay. Zay Flowers has an incredible A dot average depth of target. In addition to that, we saw that he can have four receptions for a hundred plus yards and a touchdown. That could be Zay Flowers. So in a standard league he's fine. In a point per possession league or half PPR league, he's great, because he is truly the only guy outside of that of Mark Andrews, in my opinion, in that offense. That is going to be even worth a damn catching the ball. So now you have a possession receiver that's going to get even better from his rookie season man. So now, in half PPR, full PPR, he's good. So for me, I actually think and I'm sorry to the viewers and I'm sorry to the people listening because we did you a disservice because we haven't even talked about him that much and I think that this is a guy that's being slept on really heavily Backing up for one second.
Speaker 1:Let's just go through a random scenario. Let's just say your middle pick. Let's just say you're seven overall in a 12-man league. You're going to take a receiver there. Maybe it's AJ Brown. Okay, you come back. You go running back or quarterback. You come back and do the opposite of what I just said. So it would be receiver, running back, quarterback in some fashion.
Speaker 1:Those are for your first three rounds. You're probably going to go another running back. So there's round four. You might select a tight end Round five. Now you're sitting there around six and you're wondering and deciding between who is going to be your receiver two. John, I am completely fine if Zay Flowers is actually my receiver two in that situation, or if you load up on running backs or, excuse me, receivers and then you were able to hit a running back to be your anchor, maybe a hero RB strategy. Even better if you can get Zay Flowers as your flex. If you can get Zay Flowers as a flex piece man, sail off into the sunset and enjoy the show, because you're going to get one. My personal perspective, but I really am high on Zay Flowers.
Speaker 2:I am too. I think he's too low man. He's below T Higgins, stefan Diggs, amari Cooper, devontae Smith. I'm taking him above all of those guys. I am. He's right there with Rasheed Rice, georgeorge pickens that's a difficult decision for me for those three guys. I've probably got that ranked rishi rice, george pickens, then zay flowers. But it's really damn close man I mean. He's. He's a guy I I think is absolutely going to return way more value than what you're getting him at.
Speaker 2:I think he's going to be definitely in an upper echelon, potentially in a wide receiver. One is where he can end up finishing this year. These defenses are going to be staring in the backfield at Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. They're going to forget about Zay Flowers. They're going to forget about Zay Flowers. They're going to run, heavy run, heavy run, heavy run. Get those linebackers to take one little bite in and Zay Flowers is gone, man. So I think it's going to be really exciting year for him and year two receiver. Yes, we focus so much on these rookies because it was such a good class that came out this year, but let's not forget about these year two guys that had very good seasons last year as rookies. Maybe not that top echelon guys like I'm talking Rasheed Rice and Zay Flowers specifically. Those guys are due to make a major step forward this year and, I think, have a real breakout, john, just to call that out.
Speaker 1:One additional item Zay Flowers averaged in half PPR per game. Fantasy points about 10.5 in full ppr 13, 13 points in full ppr guys. If you get a full point ppr 13 guy per game point, uh, a 13 point guy per game as your flex dude, let's go, let's go. That is something beautiful. So I just wanted to say, just wanted to map what we're talking about to the actual stats from last year and we're seeing a trajectory up one more season under his belt, a season with a new offense under his belt.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm digging it, brother, I'm digging him. All right, let's talk about um. There's another guy here. He's just too low. I thought his adp would rise. He's just too low. He's the running back 25 and he finished as the running back two last year. What, what's going on with raheem mostert? Why does nobody want to take raheem mostert?
Speaker 1:john, it's strictly because of devon a chan, it's strictly because they drafted jay um right out of, uh, tennessee they're running back there. And so, for me, man, there's a lot of Tennessee the running back there. And so for me, man, there's a lot of competition. But, guys, there's always been a lot of competition with wherever Raheem Mostert has been you think about San Francisco, you think about Miami he's always performed as long as he's been healthy. I mean, john, this is to the tune of he was in half PPR. He was the number two running back. Overall, he was the number two running back overall, overall the number two running back.
Speaker 1:And yes, I know, devon A Chan got hurt. But, guys, he was balling out with Devon A Chan. It wasn't like, oh, because of Devon A Chan getting hurt, that then ended up causing him to be number two. Sure, it probably fed into it, but he would have still been top 10. Still top 10. You're telling me, if you draft the top 10 running back in, what is that, john? Round seven, round, seven, guys, that's unbelievable value. Again, we talk about value. So for me, man, I think it's a sin if you don't draft Raheem Mostert in the sixth, seventh round, et cetera, because of the value he's going to provide. I love it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I mean I'm not expecting him to do what he did last year. For fuck's sake. He had 21 touchdowns. It's insane 21 touchdowns, 18 rushing touchdowns and three receiving touchdowns. I'm not expecting that. That's absurd. He had one, two, three, four, five, six games with multiple touchdowns. Two or three touchdowns in a game. I'm not expecting that, guys, that's insane. But I mean, come on To be running back 25, that is not going to be a heavy lift for Raheem Mostert for what he's done. He's going to return value.
Speaker 2:Guys, if you draft heavy on receivers and you're light, you're playing that running back two game where you have to wait until round seven, eight, nine to grab your RB twos Perfect place. We've seen it with mock drafts where guys have done that. They went crazy on receiver and just dominated. They dominated that receiver position for anybody they're going to play against and then you can come back and get a guy like a Raheem Mostert to settle your team. It's beautiful, yeah, so he's being just drafted way too low. Here's another guy, frank, I want to talk about. I think he's being drafted too low too. I think people have a bad taste in his mouth from injury, from missing time, from bringing Puka Nakua coming on, really just took the spotlight, but I think motherfuckers have forgotten about cooper cup.
Speaker 1:They forgot about cooper cup I think I don't know why everybody's terrified of him.
Speaker 2:But barring injury, why is he being drafted where he's drafted?
Speaker 1:john, I, I don't know, I I gotta be real, it's gotta be because puka it got to be, because there may be some certainty with Matt Stafford, I don't know, outside of it has to be just due to injury. Because, guys, if you're telling me that you can get Cooper Cup in the third or fourth round, like I get it. Like his ADP is 33, receiver 17. But when I've been doing mock drafts, sean, when we're doing them, when I'm doing them by myself and things like that, he's definitely going round four on average, even in a 12-man league, even though his ADP is 33. Like, dude, I don't understand it, because he could end up being your third receiver or your second receiver.
Speaker 1:And here's what's interesting man Cup missed the first four games of the season last year, right with a hamstring injury, and then sat out week 18 after the Rams clinched the playoff spot. But in between his numbers equated on a 17-game pace. In between games, 5 then to 17,. John, it was insane. He was on pace for 84 catches, over 1,000 yards and 7 touchdowns. Like, and I get that. That's a major turndown from when he won the Triple Crown, right, in terms of yards, touchdowns, catches, etc. But, etc. But I mean dude, to get this guy as your receiver three or two potentially, I mean, and he's healthy like fire it up and trust the process.
Speaker 1:Like you don't go into a season guys, and I get it if he was going first round, I'm with you like stay away, it's too much, too much risk. But to be a receiver two or three dude, I'm taking that all day and twice on Sunday. Baby, like, load me up with some Cooper cup man. I just think. I think it's going to be an absolute awesome thing when we get to see live time, a healthy Puka, a healthy Matt Stafford and a healthy Cooper cup. I think it's going to be beautiful. I don't see anything under a thousand yards. I don't see anything under 80 receptions. I don't even see anything under five touchdowns. So what are you waiting for? Take the risk and put the guy on your team.
Speaker 2:Nine of the 12 games played last year, he had over eight targets. Say it again, john Nine of the 12 games he played last year, he had over eight targets. Say it again, john Nine of the 12 games he played last year, he had over eight targets. Amazing, it's beautiful. That's what you want, man. I'm telling you Cooper Cup again. He has to stay healthy.
Speaker 2:But you can't go into a draft saying, well, this guy seems to get hurt a lot. That's. Every NFL player is in every position to be hurt at any time. You can't say somebody the injury prone status is bullshit, it's just feelings, it's emotions. You got to separate that stuff. This guy's being underdrafted. He could absolutely be a top five, top 10 receiver. You know, top 10, I think, is a piece of cake. I think that's written in stone. But top five, we've seen it when you go to draft the past couple of years, cooper Cup was a number one guy. That didn't go away. Guys that didn't go away. It's gonna tamper down a bit, obviously, with age and with the rise of puka, but I think that's gonna help him, man. If he can continue what he did last year and play a full season, he's gonna be a top five guy.
Speaker 2:Alright, um, taysom Hill. Okay, this has to be done. This is a fantasy football podcast. We can't ignore this. Taysom Hill is interesting man. Okay, he's the backup quarterback. He's the backup tight end. He's the backup running back. He's the backup trainer. He's the backup tax consultant. He's the back. This son of a bitch does it all, man. I mean, really, I can't even believe I'm saying this, but Taysom Hill is worth taking at the end of the draft. You don't have to roll him out there. If you've got a bigger bench, if you've got a small bench four or five guys, okay, maybe not, you're going to need some talent to back up your guys there. But if you've got a deeper bench, I think you have to pick up Taysom Hill. Man, I think he's going to get some play. A lot of coach talk about him. This is a new coach, dennis Allen for the Saints. He's talking him up a lot, man, and if this guy could be a backup quarterback running back, like he did? Every year he does it for a few games.
Speaker 1:If he can do that for you and you can plug him in as tight end. If you waited and punted on tight end, why the fuck not, right, Dude? I love it. Dennis Allen last year liked Taysom Hill, John, and this year he's coming out and saying he's going to be a huge red zone threat. That is not my words, that is the coach's words.
Speaker 1:And when you're talking about a Swiss army knife, like, arguably like we have never seen in the NFL I don't know if I've ever seen a guy that can literally go and play quarterback at a decently high level and then you have the ability to go line up at tight end and fucking block some of these defensive ends that are twice his size and then line up in the backfield, whether you're a fullback or a running back, and you're pounding it in the end zone. And, John, there were jokes going around that they were looking at him as safety. As safety, I mean, dude, like again, I get that that's in a joking manner, but it's kind of like yeah, you can see it right, Like it's. It's crazy. So to me, I'm all over Taysom Hill. I will be drafting him if I decide to wait on tight end, because what do you guys have to lose? Do you think that there's going to be a massive fall off from a Cole Komet or from a Pat Friermuth or some of these guys compared to Taysom Hill? You really believe that there's going to be that much of a value difference? Fuck, no, there's not man.
Speaker 1:Taysom Hill, if anything, is more valuable because they can use him in so many different facets. And Kendre Miller is out, and so that means that the only backup basically that's worth a damn is Jamal Williams, which we've seen. Yeah, he's good, but it's definitely Kamara, but man around the goal line. They will put in Taysom Hill at quarterback and do sweeps. They'll put him in at running back, tight end, so on and so forth. So for me, dude, I think that as long, call out, as long as your league is set up to be able to input him as a tight end, draft his ass. If he's only as a quarterback, don't even worry about it. So make sure you know that the settings in your league are actually qualifying Taysom Hill as a tight end.
Speaker 2:Last guy I want to talk about here is Rasheed Rice, wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs. Listen, I talked about on the last. I took him in the last mock draft we did. We talked about it briefly but I think it deserves to be talked about, man. His ADP has not moved and it should have. Once it came out and we realized he was sitting on a suspension he's going to be suspended. Whether it's later in the year doesn't seem like it, or probably in the offseason of next year is probably when we're going to see that, but it doesn't look like that's happening now.
Speaker 2:Chiefs play on Thursday. Rasheed Rice is going to be on the field. He is the number one receiver for Patrick Mahomes. We talked about how much we love Patrick Mahomes this year with added weapons and what they've done, how he looks, what he's doing, these fucking behind the back passes and shit. But listen, man, we saw Rasheed Rice. He was a rookie last year. He had a good year. Took him a little while to develop but he got into a groove and at the end of last year, very much an Amon Ross St Brown, except the difference was he was in the playoffs. He won the Super Bowl. You know that's the big difference there. This team's looking at coming back for a three-peat. He's going to be the top receiving option for Patrick Mahomes and he's a year two receiver. Let me tell you something, man this guy was this close to being my champion today. That's why I want to talk about him right now. He was this close to being my fucking champion.
Speaker 1:Talk to me about Rasheed Rice, though. Do you think he's too low, john? I think he is too low, and here's why, guys, here is his rankings the last six weeks of last season Receiver 3, receiver 26, receiver 12, receiver 10, receiver 38, and receiver 16. What does that mean, guys? He ended up having 21 points, 10 points, 14 points, 19 points, 9 points and 16 points in fantasy football per week and a half PPR, john, not once, actually one time. One time in that six-week stretch did he actually underperform his projected receiver ECR at 28 right now, one time. So, guys, what I'm getting at is he's absolutely being drafted too low. Now, again, that doesn't mean rush up and reach up for him. Let him fall to you, don't freak out. And for those that are taking Patrick Mahomes, this is the stack you need. This is the stack I would absolutely be targeting.
Speaker 1:In that same example, john, when we were talking about you draft a receiver early, then maybe you end up drafting a quarterback and then a running back in that third round. We were talking about Josh Jacobs, right, if that quarterback is Patrick Mahomes for you, damn it. You better be going after Rasheed Rice in that fifth or sixth round there, because then you can double dip, then it makes sense. He's your flex receiver at that point in time. You don't even have to worry about him being your receiver too. So that's why, man, I love Rasheed Rice. I'm with you. Knowing his looming suspension is going to be pushed back until, potentially, december. You can get all sorts of good value for him now and trade his ass in November, make the other people get all sick and tired or sick and worried about the suspension and what's going to happen after December 9th and things like that. You can trade him at the highest peak value at that point. There's a lot of positives to drafting Rasheed Rice All right.
Speaker 2:Frankie, let's do this, man, let's do this baby, we've got our champions.
Speaker 3:You seem to be in good form. Who am I fighting? Does that matter?
Speaker 2:These are our champions. These are guys that Frankie and I are planning our flag in and we're saying we love these guys. We have an opportunity for these guys to far surpass their ADPs and to be superstars on your teams. So these are not obvious guys either. Frankie and I like to dig a little deep and take some chances. We're not going to throw out you know, brees Hall and fucking Bijan Robinson here. Of course, those guys are going to be awesome. We're talking about some other guys here. So, frankie, I will give you the honor. Sir, who is your first tier one champion Guys?
Speaker 1:So here we go, my tier one champion. I'm calling from the depths of Olympus itself, hailing from Columbus Ohio, going to that of the jets and being a dominant threat for my tier one chosen champion. I'm repping out Garrett Wilson. He's averaging John 157 targets over the last two years with dog shit quarterback play. He's also averaging over a thousand yards receiving, and again he had sack Wilson, mike White and plug in another shit bag. And that's who was throwing him the ball man. Because we missed out on Aaron Rodgers and what could be.
Speaker 1:Here's the other awesome thing the addition of Mike Williams. Guys, people are like, hey, that's going to take away target share. Sure, it might lessen targets ever so slightly, but, guys, this takes the heat off of him because Mike Williams is a deep threat guy, he's a 50-50 ball guy. So now Garrett Wilson can get much more creative with his routes. And then you layer on a healthy Brees Hall, a healthy Aaron Rodgers, and now you're putting together Garrett Wilson when you're drafting him as an ADP 12.
Speaker 1:Garrett Wilson, when you're drafting him as an ADP 12, so that means back half a first or early, very early snake back in the second when his upside here is a top five receiver. He could surpass AJ Brown. He could surpass Justin Jefferson. Shit man. He could surpass Jamar Chase. That is how good this guy is, with a Hall of Fame quarterback throwing him the ball. We've not gotten to see it yet, and now we're going to be able to see it. So for me, john, I'm planting my flag in Garrett Wilson and I'm riding with him into the depths of hell. Garrett Wilson, will you be my champion? I will be your champion.
Speaker 2:I love the Tyrion. Lannister just has the look that he wants to cry. You know, after he says it, I will be your champion, I will be your champion, I will be your champion Makes me so happy. All right, let's get to my tier one guy here. What we did, guys, we did tier one, tier two and tier three based on ADPs. So these are going to be our tier one guys. These are going to be guys you're drafting in the first couple of rounds.
Speaker 2:My guy we've talked about him a little bit here. Man, this was not a difficult one for me at all. My tier one champion is Isaiah Pacheco, running back for the Kansas City Chiefs. We just talked a lot about the opportunities with Kansas City, with Patrick Mahomes, rasheed Rice, with Travis Kelsey as well. Isaiah Pacheco is the workhorse back for this team. We finally have a workhorse opportunity for a Chiefs running back. I don't think we've seen this since Kareem Hunt. To be perfectly honest with you, you know it's been a little while, man. Last year he was the running back 14. He ended 2023 as a running back 14. He's being drafted. Ecr is running back 11. Adp of about 20. So you can get him second, maybe third round if he drops a little bit.
Speaker 2:But some of the big differences here are why I love Isaiah Pacheco, not just because more experience in the Andy Reid offense, more experience with Patrick Mahomes. He's trusted with the pass rush, he's trusted to be a three down back now. That's one of the reasons I like him. Another reason no, jarek McKinnon. This year Jarek McKinnon was annoying. He got in there on third downs. He got in there in the red zone, caught a lot of passes out of the backfield. He's gone. That opportunity, that guy snaking his opportunity, is gone Four games last year without Jarek McKinnon.
Speaker 2:Isaiah Pacheco averaged 20 touches and 100 yards per game. He averaged 20 touches and 100 yards per game. He was ranked seventh in red zone touches in the NFL. I mean, the opportunity for this guy is just so huge. He's an angry runner. We see him just stomping on the field like he's stomping out goddamn insects all over the field. When he's running, he runs hard, he catches the ball. He can literally do everything.
Speaker 2:He was really close to 1,000 yards rushing last year and he had 49 targets out of the backfield. If he can get that, he'll be over 1,000 yards rushing. I'm not worried about that. But if he can get that, he'll be over 1,000 yards rushing. I'm not worried about that. But if he can get that target range to about 65 targets rather than around 50, that will put him up in the top five. If you look at those top five running backs, what's the difference? What do they have? They've got 65 to 80 targets. That's the difference. If Pacheco gets that his projection as a number five, top five running back he's staring at it. It's right there. So, isaiah Pacheco, my friend, please will you be my champion. I will be your champion.
Speaker 1:Love it, John Love it baby.
Speaker 1:Love it. We're going to go tier two here, man, and my tier two is none other than hailing from the deep north. We're going to the NFC North. We're going to a quarterback landscape of where his ADP is 76, his ECR is QB 10, john, and I'm showing him some love, baby. And who am I talking about? Jordan Love himself.
Speaker 1:The reason why I'm taking him, guys, as my champion in Tier 2 is because over the last eight starts last year that he had, he averaged 269 passing yards a game. He had 18 touchdowns, one interception and an unbelievable 70.3% completion percentage, and he averaged 6.7 yards an attempt. Holy shit. And that was with Jaden Reed as a rookie, dontavian Wicks as a rookie, romeo Dubs, christian Watson being super young right, and Luke Musgrave as a rookie. All of them were under two years in the league, two to three years in the league, and so the upside is unbelievable, man.
Speaker 1:So the other interesting call-out is his strength of schedule, john. The reason this is important is because it's roughly in the middle, at about 19 out of 32 teams, and so what that tells me is there's they're not playing a lot of top tier defenses consistently, so there's a lot of opportunity for him to capitalize on this. So for me, man, I'm all about Jordan Love, getting him in that eighth round, qb 10, sky is the limit. Jordan Love, will you be my tier two champion? I will be your champion. I will be your champion.
Speaker 2:Okay, my next champion. This guy I am so excited about Frankie, I can't even begin to tell you. We've talked about this guy a lot already on our Rookie Review. We've got a video, boom, post it right there. But, guys, I won't go into too much detail, but I've got to talk a little bit about my man, this guy, I have a feeling he's going to be the newest addition into Johnny's boy band. Okay, along with DK and AJ Brown. Justin Jefferson yeah, man, I'm talking about Malik Neighbors.
Speaker 2:Wide receiver, rookie wide receiver for the New York football Giants. Listen, man, I'm super excited about this guy. Okay, this is the first alpha that the New York Giants have had at receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. I mean really, yeah. And actually it's a very similar type comp too. I mean, this guy is a touchdown machine. He lines up all over the field, he can literally do everything. Touchdown machine. He lines up all over the field, he can literally do everything. So right now he's ADP of 48. So he's going fourth, fifth round. I love where he's going.
Speaker 2:Right now, ecr is the 23rd wide receiver off the board. I love this. Listen, you can draft this guy. If you go a little running back heavy, you can draft him as your wide receiver too. You get real lucky and you can get him as your flex. It's just beautiful, the upside in the flex position Malik Nabors would be gorgeous. But let me tell you something, what I like about this guy. Yeah, he's going to be the alpha. Yeah, he's going to be the only. He's the alpha and the omega on this offense right now, man, and he's just going to get so much volume 86 catches last year, 1,456 yards, 14 touchdowns Absolutely crazy. He's a yak machine man. Listen, these high share target rookies 75% of these guys way overperformed their ADPs, percent of these guys way over perform their ADPs. And he is the definition of a high target rookie man. Love this guy. Malik. Neighbors, my friend, my boy, old enough to be a child of mine, will you be my champion? I will be your champion.
Speaker 1:John, we're going into tier three range. This is where we're in the trenches man. We're trying to figure out who we're going to be fighting in battle with, and I'll tell you what man. I'm taking a flyer on this guy. Adp is 129. Ecr expert consensus rating is 51. What does that mean? It is hailing from the snow capital of the world, where it is just blizzarding and cold starting in September. Yes, that's a lie, but you'll get what I'm saying. I'm going with Curtis Samuel.
Speaker 1:Curtis, samuel man has yet, since he's been in the league outside of 2020, season 2020, he's really yet to break into the receiver two territory and I'm telling you this is going to be the year. If he stays healthy. He has an excellent opportunity in Buffalo, alongside that of Josh Allen throwing him the ball, khalil Shakur right, and they also have Dalton Kincaid and that if they drafted Keon Coleman right. What I'm getting at is there's not a lot of name brand guys. They shipped off Stefan Diggs to Houston, shipped off Gabe Davis to the Jags. This left open over 160 targets. Guys, this has got to go somewhere, and I can tell you where it's not going to all go is to one of those guys I just mentioned who are going to be alongside of Curtis Samuel. It's going to be divided up. So if Curtis Samuel can get a solid piece they paid him to be a solid piece here he could be freaking gold man One call out. I mentioned the caveat In 2020, samuel had 77 receptions.
Speaker 1:He also had 1,051 scrimmage yards and five total touchdowns. The reason why I bring that up is because who was his OC? Who was his OC in Carolina? It was Joe Brady. Guess who the OC is now, as of end of last year in Buffalo? It's Joe Brady. This dude knows how to utilize Curtis Samuel. Curtis Samuel is a Swiss army kind of cat. He's not a pure receiver. He's certainly not just a pure running back. He is a blend of both that can do a very high level job. So for me, man, I love Curtis Samuel where you can get him in the 12th, 13th, 14th round. I love Curtis Samuel where you can get him in the 12th, 13th, 14th round, and that means there's no risk, with only reward with a potential receiver, one on his prospective team, being the Bills. So for me, curtis Samuel, will you be my tier three champion?
Speaker 2:I will be your champion all right, let's get to my tier three champion here. This one, I went out on a limb. Frankie, this is not a guy you're going to be drafting. This is a guy that's still going to be left out there and he's going to be on the waiver wire most likely unless you're in a 2QB league. But you're going to be drafting. This is a guy that's still going to be left out there and he's going to be on the waiver wire most likely unless you're in a 2QB league. But I'm going to go. I'm going to get a little crazy here, man. I think this is a post-hype sleeper. Okay, as I looked into it Now, who I wanted to look at for my champion was Brian Thomas Jr, but I already have a rookie receiver with Malik Nabors, so I couldn't do it. But I'm going to go with the quarterback here. My next champion, my tier three champion, is Sir Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 2:Trevor Lawrence, quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Listen, man, he's 25 years old. This year this begins his peak. Okay, post-type sleeper. Had a decent rookie season Injury-plagued last year. Not only was he injury plagued, but his receivers were injury plagued as well. Adp this year 120. He's a QB 16. Like I said, you don't have to draft this guy, but I think Trevor Lawrence has a real opportunity for a top five finish as a fantasy quarterback this year. I'm planting my flag in that, frank, and that's why I wanted to do this. We're going to check it out here, all right.
Speaker 2:First, 10 weeks not great. There were some struggles with that Jacksonville offense. There was a struggle with Trevor Lawrence's health as well. He was a QB 19 in the first 10 weeks. He averaged 235 yards a game and a touchdown. From week 11 on, he was the QB7, averaging 271 yards and 1.7 touchdowns per game, despite losing Christian Kirk the last five games of the year. 21 passing touchdowns in 2023. If he can get that to 30, he could be a top five finisher. You've got to be in that 30 plus range in touchdowns to be a top five finish. Trevor Lawrence can get there this year. Man, you've got Christian Kirk, who's healthy. He was banged up a lot last year. That's his possession cozy blanket in the middle of the field. I think you're going to see a heavy dose of Christian Kirk this year.
Speaker 2:They've added Gabe Davis. Gabe Davis listen, I don't think he's going to be a great fantasy asset, but what he does is he helps Trevor Lawrence. That's where those additional touchdowns. Could Gabe Davis get five, six touchdowns this year? Absolutely, that can add to it. So Gabe Davis can help Trevor Lawrence get to those 30 touchdowns. Then they add and they've got Evan Ingram, obviously running through, running a rough shot through the middle of the field.
Speaker 2:Travis Etienne available as well out of the backfield, very good pass catcher. You lost Calvin Ridley, but you replaced him with Brian Thomas Jr, who did lead the league in the college football in receiving touchdowns. Listen, man, this is a guy that Trevor Lawrence needs. This is perfect for him. This guy could be a true alpha receiver. He's a touchdown fucking machine which, like I said, for Trevor Lawrence to get to that top five, he's got to have over 30 touchdowns. He had 21 last year in a very okay, so-so year. He can get that with Brian Thomas and his new weapons. I think Trevor Lawrence is going to be Sir Trevor Lawrence once again. And Trevor Lawrence, will you be my champion? I will be your champion.
Speaker 2:Oh, so great man, so great. I love this. I love this. Love the champions. Good luck, man. Good luck to you and your champions. These are not easy champions. These are not. You know, guys, that most people are planting their flags on, but we're going to do it because we've got balls, Frankie. We got big balls, Frankie.
Speaker 1:Big balls, Johnny Big balls. I'll tell you what John, speaking of big balls, right, you got to got big balls to bet a little bit. John, why don't we Frank it up for a?
Speaker 2:second baby I got you. I'll Frank you up right now. Baby, you got to Frank it up, Frank it up.
Speaker 1:Frank it up, yeah, so guys check it out. Johnny mentioned it before but again, before we Frank it up, it leads right into it. We have exciting news. It's signupexpertcom backslash, frankly, to explore selection of sports books, right, tailored and what's really cool, guys, they actually tailored to your region, each with unique offerings, right? So, again, if you're ready to join Johnny and I in the frankly fantasy family to take on sports betting to the new heights, right, and you love our brand, I highly recommend just checking it out. Sign up, try it once, try it twice, try it out and you can easily find it, guys, in the description of the video. It will also be in the description of the reels that we're sending out as well. Now, john, bringing it full circle, what does that mean? What would you bet on? What would be something that you might want to test the waters with? Maybe you're signing up for something real, sexy and fan-duel. You've never used fan-duel before and you're like Frank. What do I use the bonus bet on? What about that Thursday night game coming up, john? What do we got cooking there, it is the Chiefs versus the Ravens baby.
Speaker 2:Right now oh.
Speaker 1:God Lamar versus Patty Mahomes, derek Henry versus Pacheco. Dude, it is going to be lights out, brother. So why not take a stab Right now? Chiefs are minus three, the over-under is 46 and a half. So what's interesting is you can absolutely go that route. I'm not really sure what that looks like, who I would be taking at this point in time. Again, we're not 100% sure who's winning or losing this one, but it's going to be a damn good game. But here's one bet that you might want to check out. Not saying it's going to hit, but I'm definitely saying it's interesting. Same game parlay here you can take an anytime touchdown, lamar Jackson. You can take an anytime touchdown, travis Kelsey, an anytime touchdown, derrick Henry and an anytime touchdown, isaiah Pacheco. Guys, what does this equate to? You? Put in $10, $10, $10, holla, you get paid $229. I don't know, man, for a bonus bet, for something along those lines. That might be something that you're like let's rock and roll for game one Could be something fun. So just test in the waters, man.
