This is the Frankly Fantasy Football Podcast. We are your hosts, frankie and Johnny. Welcome in. My brother, we had another. I mean, every week the Reaper comes. The Reaper comes, man, are you okay? How'd you make it out?

Speaker 2:

Oh, you know I had Rico Dowdle starting so that was super exciting. And you know I had to make a quick adjustment and put in Devin Singletary, so that was so fun.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you mean my sit of the week last week. How'd that work out for you, oh?

Speaker 2:

great, great. He certainly should have sat. If you could sit it, he certainly should have sat. So yeah, man, and you know, love seeing Debo get re-injured and a few others, I'm sure we'll hit on it. So yeah, man, I'm crying on the inside.

Speaker 1:

Crying. I feel like every week our episode is just news. It's just doom and gloom, there's nothing good. It's like, hey, guess what? Guys Remember your flex player from last week? He, that's what I feel like every single week. It's crazy dude.

Speaker 2:

I mean literally from week to week. It's like you're scraping, you're clawing, you're trying to figure it out. I mean, I'm almost up on my FAB dollars, john. A lot of these leagues playing the waiver wire, so yeah.

Speaker 1:

It's bananas, man, it's bananas. What are some of the takeaways? It was a fun week, though I will say it was a fun week, though I will say it was, there was a lot of scoring. That was great to see. First thing I want to say Puka's back. I mean, right Out of nowhere, puka comes out of the blue Apparently. He goes up to Sean McVay and says, hey, I might be able to play this week, man, and he's like, really All right, well, let's get a workout in and let's check it out. Sure as shit. We didn't even know prior to the game. Harley Puka's on and man, did he come on? He came on and played great.

Speaker 2:

And what's crazy too 56, 57% snap share for Puka still explodes Like it's just man. Stafford's got to be sitting there like, yeah, baby, we can do this, we can make this happen. Nfc West is a little bit down. Let's keep going. It's going to be fun to see what happens. Man, with Cooper Cuff and Pruka back.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're going to talk about this offense a little bit later. Yeah, spoiler alert. Spoiler alert. Frankie, talk to me about what I believe is the best team in the NFL right now, and I don't think it's that close. Talk to me about Motown Detroit is so fun. Close Talk to me about Motown Detroit is so fun.

Speaker 2:

They are so fun to watch. Actually, john, this is what's crazy. In the last five games, their last five game stretch this past five games, 25 touchdowns, total touchdowns, and they've had 20 incompletions. They've had a total of 25 touchdowns and a total of 20 incompletions. It's actually the first team to do this, man, since the merger in 1970. I mean, this is this Detroit team is so fun to watch. You got Sonic and Knuckles. You got Amin Rai. You got the sun God. You got Jared golf, looking like fucking primetime golf baby. And on top of it, man, how do you not like Dan Campbell? I mean, I get I say his name dude and I get pumped up. I'm ready Velociraptor eggs and all sorts of shit. Like dude, I'm all about it.

Speaker 1:

I do the Dan Campbell workout. It's all glamor muscles, it's all you can see right here, and I wear the Lululemon shirts that accentuate the traps. Oh yeah, man, it's all glamour muscles, baby, and you know if you're not wearing Lululemon.

Speaker 2:

it's cool. There's Fabletics. Like you know, I go Fabletics, target brand. We're not all as lucky as Johnny over here, guys, so don't feel bad about yourself.

Speaker 1:

Oh, speaking of, I'm not doing that.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

I'm in Connecticut right now. I think I record more in hotel rooms than I do in my own home in my studio, so I'll probably do. I'm in Connecticut, going through the airport and I'm looking at the stores and I'm like, yeah, I got a few minutes to kill. Maybe I'll look in Brooks Brothers, maybe look at a sport. But next door to Brooks Brothers is a Spanx store. Spanx is actually a brand. It's a brand. I didn't realize that. I remember the old Spanx that you wore. You know the tights. I didn't realize, yeah, they're trying to compete with Lululemon. Didn't know that. Did you buy some Spanx?

Speaker 2:

Oh, okay, I'm asking for a friend. Come on, man.

Speaker 1:

I will stand by the Lululemon brand until I die, but I'm not touching Spanx man. Fair enough, I can't do it. I can't do it, all right. What else do we look at here? Oh, jaden Daniels man.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we got to talk about the number one, I mean the number two overall pick. Who is playing like the number one overall pick? He's phenomenal man. I mean truly incredible.

Speaker 1:

It was amazing. I mean, he was questionable to even play we weren't sure if he was going to and then comes out and plays great. And how about that Hail Mary at the end of the gift? You know, that's what Tyreek Stevenson gets.

Speaker 2:

You know you can't want the way team or the home team when you're playing away. I'd expect some sort of something to have like what are?

Speaker 1:

you doing.

Speaker 2:

Like that was amateur hour.

Speaker 1:

Amateur hour man. I mean, come on, give me a break, man. Uh, what about Bo Nix? Shocking, I mean, hey man, awesome, awesome, very simple. I had Bo Nix fired up and I know, I know I talked to a couple of guys cause I have Jaden Daniels, my son does, my brother does, we all talked about we're like I said, pick up Boicks and and have him sitting there, just in case. Yeah, we all had bo nicks. We all ended up starting jayden daniels and I looked at that way. Bo nicks scored 33 points. I should have stuck, but but he looks good. I really enjoy watching this guy play. He's got a little bit of a rushing floor and he's tossing the ball around the yard.

Speaker 2:

Man he looks good man and sean payton's totally in command right now and dude with bow nicks as a rookie and knowing what they can build off of. I mean, man, it was sketchy in the beginning but they're riding this defense and, as of right now, john, technically they are vying for the number seven position in the playoffs right now. So this is like exciting as shit.

Speaker 1:

It's a sean payton's, a hell of a coach. I mean this is all Sean Payton, yeah, it just is, you can tell. But it's nice to see Bo Nix developing like he is man. I mean he's becoming a startable asset, certainly in a two QB league, Definitely super flex oh definitely, and John, one other guy too.

Speaker 2:

We got a, our boy Tilly, our boy Cedric Tillman. You know real quick how funny would it be. He should get like that Bud Light deal. That's, you know, when they used to go dilly, dilly, you know, just go tilly, tilly. So, oh man, that's a t-shirt we need to have fucking made right now. Tilly, tilly for the Browns games, just saying You're in Cleveland.

Speaker 1:

You know, people Get a t tissue Tilly Tilly, baby Tilly Tilly.

Speaker 2:

Tilly, Tilly, Incredible. It's good to see this man exploding. It's good to see two tutties and man. I think we're going to talk about him a little bit more too.

Speaker 1:

I think we just may. Yeah, so Sunday was a special day in the NFL. Frankie and I'm a little. It was fun and I like it and I'm glad they they have it, but I think they should do other positions as well. It was tight at national tight end day on Sunday, wow. And did it have any effect on the tight end play? Maybe it's like it did. And 177 tight end receptions for 16 tight end touchdowns the most in history in a single day was it was just cool bananas. I'm watching football. I'm like, oh my God, it's only tight end scoring right now. I mean, why? Why did this happen? Did the coach please? It just has to be a coincidence, right it's?

Speaker 2:

crazy. I mean John, literally there was a guy who ended up putting a $65 bet and he ended up having eight tight ends to score and won 50K off of a $65 anytime touchdown bet for tight ends. So, dude, something was in the water. You know those quarterbacks are targeting the tight ends on National Tight End Day. So everybody think about it for next year. Put it away, Save it somewhere safe, you know, and get ready for next national tight end day, Cause I'm doing the same shit.

Speaker 1:

How about a national wide receiver day? I mean, that would be, that would be helpful.

Speaker 2:

National wide receiver day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, National wide out day. Of course there aren't any left, and once we get through the news here you'll see why. All right, Before we get to the news, guys, I've got exciting news for you. Speaker 2:

Baby the season of 2,000 yards is still in effect. It's a really lost football News and notes.

Speaker 1:

All right, frankie, we got some stuff going on here. Let's get to it here. I'm going to need your help trying to figure out who to play instead of some of these guys here. Jordan Love, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, left the game with a groin injury. Test came back. Status looks pretty good. It's not a serious injury. He could play. You're going to have to monitor his status this week. If he doesn't go, malik Willis will be in his backup. Malik willis will be in his backup. Actually was serviceable when jordan love was out. Does this really affect? Uh, if jordan love doesn't play, where are you moving some of these receivers? What are you going to do with some of these guys?

Speaker 2:

I mean, john it's. It's actually kind of tough, because I would normally say like, yeah, we're going to be moving jayden reed down a bit, christian watson down a bit right, maybe tucker craft as well. But malik Willis actually has been playing very, very well when Jordan Love has been hurt. But just to be honest and real about it, man, I'm still moving him down. If Jordan Love isn't playing, I just think that you still are going to fire up Jaden Reed. You're going to level, set your expectations, though he may not get as many targets, he may not get as many opportunities, but it will still be there. But what it does, I think it elevate, continues to elevate, that of Josh Jacobs, man. So really see how this pans out. But yeah, man, as of right now, you got to stay in tune with the stuff going on with Jordan Love.

Speaker 1:

Jordan Jacobs has been balling For sure. Two tutties last week Also. Don't sleep on Tucker Craft yeah, he is Also. Don't sleep on Tucker Kraft. Yeah, he is a must-start right now at tight end and I don't think it matters whether it's Jordan Love or Malik Willis in there. All right, drake May quarterback for the New England Patriots in concussion protocol. Keep an eye on him. I'm not sure this really matters right now. I'm not really interested in any of these New England pass catchers at the moment. Ramondre Stevenson put together a decent game, had two touchdowns. He's really the only one I would even look to. I'm not starting Pop Douglas. I have started Pop Douglas. It's not working out right now, so I would not start the New England receivers at the moment.

Speaker 1:

Jordan Mason, running back for the San Francisco 49ers, left the game after six carries with a shoulder injury. They're on a bye this week. Cmc also could return in week 10. Frankie, let's get a little CMC update. I was going to save it to the end, like we always do, but a little CMC update. They're saying week 10 after the bye this week. They're on a bye. Cmc could return after that. Are we believing this?

Speaker 2:

you believe he was supposed to start for the season too, right away yeah, john, I think, I think you definitely believe this right now, because of the situation the 49ers are in, right, they are right now tied of for the nfc west lead, I believe it four and four. So right now, man, it is wide open in the nfc west. They absolutely need a top tier player, especially with brandon iuke being heard, and so for me, man, I think if they are optimistic that he is going to return after the bye week, you need to look to fire him up. He is.

Speaker 2:

His floor in most cases is borderline jordan, jordan Mason's ceiling in some aspects right, like, let's just call what it is. Yeah, I get what I'm saying. Cmc's floor is not 22 points, right, whatever, but you're understanding what I'm saying. So there's so much more of a difference when CMC is there. It's going to help out Brock Purdy more. It's going to help out some of these other receivers. More Debo Samuel, get Jawan Jennings back, get George Kittle healthy, get CMC on that field and let's see the 49ers full go.

Speaker 1:

All right, let's take a little mosey on down to Jacksonville here, man, mike, I heard they're just real happy.

Speaker 1:

They're super happy right now. Yeah, christian Kirk, wide receiver for the Jaguars, has broken collarbone and is going to miss the rest of the season. Brian Thomas Jr rookie sensation, wide receiver for the Jaguars as well left the game with a ribs and chest injury. He's day-to-day right now, but it could be two to four weeks. You're really going to have to pay attention to this With all these injuries to receivers. Brian Thomas Jr is a guy that you must have in your lineup if he's healthy. Pay attention to it this week. Also, third receiver on the Jaguars, gabe Davis. Gabe, the babe left the game with a shoulder injury. His status at the moment is unknown. You're going to have to pay attention to that too. Frankie, I'm going to throw a name out there. This team has no receivers currently on the roster to start. Parker Washington seems like he will get the majority of the snaps at the one position for the receiver spot. Is this a guy you think you can throw out there this week? You could.

Speaker 2:

You could. Let's just say you might have Debo, you might have George Pickens, you might have some of these other guys that have gotten hurt. My God does it suck. It is not pretty whatsoever, but you could. Second-year guy right now, man, looking at what he's done I mean John he ended up having last week, when he was able to play after all these injuries, four targets, three receptions, 46 yards kind of equates to 15.3 yards a reception. So you could. But, man, that is an ugly-ass start. But on the waiver wire guys, if you do have Christian Kirk and you are bleeding, it is absolutely an option and should be worth rostering on your team.

Speaker 1:

I can't believe how much money I'm going to end up paying for Parker Washington this week.

Speaker 1:

In my 14-team double-flex league league, where I hated starting Christian Kirk as it was, and then I lost him. So yeah, oh it's, it's brutal out there. Guys, it's rough in these streets. All right, let's get to some bigger news here. We got Stefan digs, wide receiver for the Houston Texans, out for the season. It is confirmed with a non-contact ACL tear. All right, man, break it down for us. What are we looking at here with this Houston offense? We've got some, got a lot of changes here. Man, and this team lit up the fucking world. Last year Stroud's been down a little bit this year. Hasn't had a game with more than two touchdowns, or only had three games with more than two touchdowns. You've got Nico Collins still on IR. You lost Stefan Diggs. For the year Tank Dell's been in and out of the roster.

Speaker 2:

What are we doing here, john, it's definitely going to be Tank Dell moving forward, but, more than anything, look at Dalton Schultz. He's going to, he should see an increase in targets, should see an increase in receptions and, honestly, even receiving yards at that point, right. So I really think that Dalton Schultz could be this guy that really steps in. But what this means, in my personal opinion, john and we'll talk more about this for the Thursday night game but this is Joe Mixon here, man, this is screaming Joe Mixon, and the reason being is not because I'm saying he's going to see an increase in rushing work.

Speaker 2:

Certainly could be a byproduct, but what this means to me is an increase in targets for Joe Mixon, right? He's incredible out of that backfield and he's so dangerous in the passing game already, let alone now. You're telling me that he could see an increase in an upshare and target share. So for me, man, I think Joe Mixon could end up being should end up being the top three running back, moving forward. You're definitely going to look to Tank Dell, you're definitely going to look to Dalton Schultz, but also this could mean an increased usage for the old head there, the old head being that of Robert Woods, bobby Woods, bobby Trees.

Speaker 1:

That's Bobby Trees.

Speaker 2:

That's Bobby Trees. That's right man. And so with Bobby Trees, john, I mean, yes, he only had two receptions last game and I'm pulling up two targets, two receptions for 18 yards. I get it Not super sexy, but we should see an increase there. Maybe John Menchie, we see him get involved a bit more. But man, there's going to be a core three and it's going to be Tank Dell, it's going to be Dalton Schultz and it's going to be our boy mixing it up with Joe Mixon.

Speaker 1:

All right, we had a surprise illness right before the game here with Rico Dowdle. He did not play in Week 8 due to an illness. Got us by surprise.

Speaker 2:

Got you by surprise, huh yeah fuck him.

Speaker 1:

It's because you don't know how to pronounce his name. That's why. Well, yeah, he made my team dwindle. So thank you, dowdell. Hey, another guy you like to talk about? Bub Means. Bub Means, yeah, you pulled out a deep pull there with Bub Means for the New Orleans Saints. He's got a high ankle sprain. He's going to miss some time. I don't know if anybody's got him on their rosters anymore, but you can take him off Sticking with the Saints.

Speaker 1:

Jawan Johnson, the tight end is in concussion protocol. Tyrone Tracy running back rookie running back, who looked great, by the way, on Monday night. Tyrone Tracy in the concussion protocol as well. Debo Samuel Once again, man, this guy can't get a break right now. Debo Samuels day-to-day with a ribs injury and an oblique strain. They're on a bye Monitor that Come next week. He should be all right in week 10. Dk Metcalf has a chance to play this week. God, I hope so, because Tyler Lockett did not get it done in his absence. So keep an eye on DK. Love to get him out there this week. All right, we've got some news. Let's take a walk down into my neighborhood where I live in Indiana. Here let's talk about. Let's go to Indianapolis. We got some news. We got some news here. We got some quarterback news Anthony Richardson is being benched for Joe Flacco. Frankie, I want you to tell me the story, or tell the story that you told me about Anthony Richardson and the team.

Speaker 2:

So, guys, this is absolutely crazy and I'm sure most of you probably know this, but if you don't, you're going to want to tune in.

Speaker 2:

So listen up, anthony Richardson, leading a game winning drive, right, second down, ends up getting a nice rush. It's looking about third and five, third, six, whatever it was. He ends up tapping his helmet to come out of the game. People are thinking he's hurt, something's up. Long story short, they lose the game, which would have put them in a serious position for the divisional title, right and things like that against the Houston Texans, right? Or put them up there to compete with the Houston Texans for the divisional title. They lose the game and what's crazy as shit, john, I've never, never in my life have I heard this before. After the game, they start interviewing him and asked what happened, like, are you hurt, are you injured? He literally goes. I was tired, I was tired.

Speaker 2:

Now let's put this in perspective. The dude is 22 years old, it is week eight, meaning you should be in mid-season form. That is literally. We are mid-season, there's 18 weeks, week eight is mid-season. There's 18 weeks, week eight is mid-season and your franchise quarterback comes out of the game on the game-winning drive, on the drive to potentially take the lead.

Speaker 2:

And, dude, I'm telling you, man, the national media just mind-blown. I mean Pat McAfee shout out dude, loved your shit. But that was incredible. Him talking about him playing for the Colts, him talking about the fans for the Colts and what that means to the team and everything like that, dude, I mean, I've never seen that. And I think the Colts are doing the right thing Going wacko for flacko, because it's not just the shit that he pulled in that last game, it's also him saying remember when he, before the season, started about how college was easier than the NFL and all this other shit. And then he gets hurt again and everything else. Well, you know what man, you know, suck it. Because, look, now you're getting benched for the old guy that they signed off of. You know the Browns team last year and, dude, you know what team last year? And, dude, you know what. Hats off to Flacco because, dude, I hope the Colts end up tearing up without Anthony Richardson. That was crazy. I've never seen anything like that.

Speaker 1:

Well, I can tell you right now, everybody that is an Anthony Richardson owner that has Flacco sitting on their bench. I'm one of them in a two quarterback league. I hate the fact that I had to put him out there every week. I couldn't move him, couldn't do anything with him. I'm very happy to plug Flacco into that super flex spot. Now Let me tell you something, though. As we're looking and evaluating rookie quarterbacks coming in, it seems so obvious to me, looking at this Anthony Richardson played very little football. He's one of the most freakish athletes I've ever seen come out of a draft and come onto an NFL team ever. That's it Bottom line. But he's not a good quarterback. What do you play? Something like 12, 13 total games all through college started a total of 13 games.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like John, he never threw more than 2,600 yards. He, he had 17 touchdowns, nine interceptions his senior year. And what's crazy is man, you and I were talking about this and we're like, well, how does that compare? Just to tell people, how does that compare to like a Jaden Daniels? Right, it's a very fair comparison because they're both dual threat and they were both a top four pick, right? Anthony Richardson was number four in his draft class and so Jaden Daniels has played in start 55 games. That is monumentally different in comparison to 13. And then the full year Anthony Richardson started, man, it wasn't even that good. And so, yeah, I'm with you, it's crazy.

Speaker 1:

It is. I mean, all of these guys are incredible athletes so just he's a little bit better of an athlete than most quarterbacks you ever see. But I'm sorry, it's the experience it's being a leader, leading a team, winning with teams. Jaden Daniels played college five years, you know. I mean that experience obviously is translating well into the NFL. That experience obviously is translating well into the NFL. The little experience of a shiny car that just gets left in the garage with the hood over, with the blanket over. I'm sorry, it's too difficult to transition like that. So they just wanted to shout that out, that that experience matters. I mean, you see that difference with Anthony Richardson and Jaden Daniels.

Speaker 1:

All right, let's look at all rightj hockinson activated and will play on sunday. That's great news for those that have tj hockinson. I missed tight end day, tj. Oh, all right, blockbuster trade man. We record this on tuesday. And uh, today had some breaking news as well. Deontay Johnson, wide receiver on the Panthers, traded to the Ravens for a fifth-round pick. All right, man, break it down. What's this doing? Are all the everybody, the Deontay Johnson owners? Are they all smiling ear to ear right now, or what?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, definitely, man. I think so. I think that this absolutely should at least provide a bit more consistency. Sure, we saw a couple 20-point games from a fantasy perspective for Deontay when Andy Dalt was throwing the ball. But, man, when you have Lamar back there, when you have a serious-ass running threat with Derrick Henry and Lamar on arguably a top-three team in the AFC being the Ravens and let's just call it what it is Rashad Bateman, he's played okay. He has not lived up to where he was drafted. And Zay Flowers, man, yeah, he's been pretty, damn solid, but he needs another piece, he needs somebody else. And so, man, deontay Johnson, back in the AFC North where he was very, very successful with the Steelers.

Speaker 2:

I think this is a match made in heaven. I think this is going to elevate Fred Deontay. I think that this is going to take away some of Zay Flowers' target share, though I mean we've seen Zay Flowers have high-teen targets. Shit John didn't. I mean one game he was borderline 20 targets, right. So I mean I don't think that we are going to see that anymore from Zay. But what this could do is this could open up more one-on-one opportunity for Zay. So it's again too early to be determined to see how this is going to end up paying me out, but I do like the trade for Deontay Johnson owners.

Speaker 1:

All right. Are you firing him right up as soon as he's on that team and ready to go?

Speaker 1:

If he's healthy and he's out there playing, he is absolutely starting on my fantasy team and two All right, juwan Jennings is going to be expected to be back wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers after their bye week, so he'll be back in week 10, too. It'll be really fun to see this 49er team back to somewhat full go in week 10. Derek Carr, quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, will practice Wednesday and could play this week. Keep an eye on that. That's going to be very good for Chris Alave. They are playing the Panthers as well, so that could be a great matchup for him. All right. Week nine the buys. This week, guys, we've got two teams on buy Pittsburgh, san Francisco. We got some guys there that are starting on your fantasy teams for sure. All right, Frankie, let's look at a little Thursday night preview here. Man, talk to me about Thursday night football Guys, as we're getting into Thursday night football.

Speaker 2:

So, with that being said, john, we're looking at thursday night preview being the texans six and two at the jets who are two and six. So, again, we talked about the texans man stefan viggs being out, nico collins being out. Joe Mixon is absolutely a must start always and fire him up. This is going to increase Tank Dell, increase Dalton Schultz Cool, let's go to the Jets.

Speaker 2:

The Jets man are in turmoil. This has been really really rough lately. So you are, of course, are going to fire a Brees Hall, unfortunately. You know, brees had it actually a solid game last game. He didn't find the end zone. He had, I believe, 80 yards rushing, a couple catches. Had he had a touchdown, his stat line looks way, way, way better. But again, you're firing up Brees Hall, you're firing up Garrett Wilson and I'm going to say it, man, you've got to fire up Devontae Adams. Still, they're going to figure it out. This is going to be purgatory for those who own Garrett Wilson and Devonta Adams, because one of these guys are going to pop and one of them are just going to be a floor and you're not sure who it's going to be.

Speaker 2:

The other interesting call out John is Tyler Conklin. Tyler Conklin is a very solid, tight end stream. Again, if you have George Kittle, if you have Pat Friermuth, if you had Jawan Johnson, some of these other guys that are banged up, you can look to Tyler Conklin as a guy that could give you four targets, three receptions, 35 yards. So in a full PPR man, that's like six and a half points From a tight end. That's not terrible and he actually had a touchdown last week. So for me, man like I, I do like tyler conklin in a must stream type of way. But man, you're firing up the big three. In my eyes it's breeze, adams and wilson I?

Speaker 1:

I just man. It is with the davante and the gary wilson. What if these don't take in turns? What if this takes three weeks to even really get a sense of what you know? Are you just going to start them, no matter what, and just hope for the best? Yeah, how can you not start Devontae Adams though? Yeah, I've heard I've heard a lot of podcasts, a lot of the other fantasy analysts talk about I'm sitting Devontae Adams. How? How are you sitting Devontae? Are you in an eight or 10 man league? I'm in 12 and 14 team leagues. You can't put Devontae on your bench man.

Speaker 2:

It's crazy. You can start over him.

Speaker 1:

You know what I mean. Like, seriously, like who would you? Parker Washington for the Jaguars, done Sold, sign me up. I'm changing my starts right now. Let me just All right, speaking of Frankie, let's get to the hit-its and quit-its. Play the song, let's go. I want you to hit it. All right, I love it, man, our hit-its and quit-its. This is our starts and sits. Frankie's got three starts, I got three starts and we each have two hits. Let's get to it. Frankie, who is your first hit-it? This?

Speaker 2:

week, my first hit-it is going to be none other than Tilly Tilly, and by that I mean Cedric Tillman versus that of the Los Angeles Chargers. Yes, the Chargers are one hell of a defense and it will be a tough matchup. But here's the deal. Cedric Tillman, in the last two weeks, has 21 targets, 15 receptions, 180 yards and two tuds. What also is interesting is the Chargers are 19th against the pass and they're 11th against the run. So I definitely see them being able to, you know, fortify that defense against that of Nick Chubb. It's going to be really hard to run against them.

Speaker 2:

So Jameis Winston is going to have to be able to throw the ball, very similar to what we saw against that of the Baltimore Ravens, right, being a very, very damn good run defense team. So love that man. And I think that Tillman, where he's at with Winston, there's not a lot of competition. Obviously there's David Njoku, obviously there's Elijah Moore, but what we're seeing is a potential breakout star. So I am firing up Tillman. In those larger leagues, those 12 man, 14 man leagues, stray away at the eight man and maybe even the 10 man at this point in time. But 12 man, 14 man, let's go with it all right, my first hit it here.

Speaker 1:

We're gonna stay in indianapolis. I know we just talked about it and we were making fun of that getting getting those guys and Anthony Richardson and all that stuff. I'm starting Josh Downs All right, he's Josh Downs baby. He's a wide receiver 28. Right now he's a year two receiver. Last week he had a beautiful 69 yard bomb touchdown man. It was goddamn beautiful. He had nine shitty targets from Anthony Richardson this week. Okay, Now we got Joe Flacco starting baby. We got a gunslinger out there. Yeah. So double digit points in four of the last five games, as well as over nine targets in four or five games. Those were shit Anthony Richardson targets. Now he's going to get Joe Flacco targets. I want Josh Downs out there. He's got the juice. He looks good man, Fire him up.

Speaker 2:

John, my number two hit it this week is going to be the other team playing against Cleveland. I'm going to go with the Latin Latin McConkie Again. He's had 21 targets, 15 receptions in the last three weeks, but last week he had 111 yards, two touchdowns and he also ended up averaging 119 yards a reception. So Laddie was absolutely crushing it. But what's interesting is the Browns have actually been solid against the pass. The issue is for them is that Herbert needs to get the ball out quickly. With this type of defense that the Browns are running. It feeds perfectly into what Laddie is doing. So for me, man, again those deeper style leagues talking to 12 man league, talking to 14 man league roll with Ladd and get that target share against that of the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 1:

I left Ladd on my bench this week, man, oh, that hurts. It hurts. I know I haven't really been in a position to be able to start him and I was thinking about it this week and made the wrong decision there. But yeah, he's definitely the short pass, the quick hit from Herbert Exactly right, man, and that's why he's playing so much better than Quentin Johnston Way better. He's just a better player as well. So, guys, this is that time of year we start seeing we're past the halfway point of the fantasy season. This is where we see those rookie receivers start to emerge, those young guys. This could be the beginning of the emergence of Ladd. I love it, frankie. All right, my next start of the week it's going to be Tony Pollard running back for the Tennessee Titans. Yeah, this is an interesting one for me. Right now, tony Pollard's a running back 22. He's had double-digit fantasy points in five of his seven appearances this year. They play New England. New England ranks 28th against running backs.

Speaker 1:

It's so tasty. Give me more of that. 20 touches Also. He's had 20 touches in six of the last seven games played and he's really getting involved in the passing game. Taj spears has been banged up. He may end up playing this week, but tony pollard's been taking the load and he's doing really well with it, man. He's squashed all those uh, you know criticisms of him not being able to be a three down back, and he's been able to do it this year, matt. So fire up, tony, nice man.

Speaker 2:

Nice, john. My number three hit it here is actually going to be my hit it of the week. I'm putting it on it Darnell Mooney versus that of Dallas. Guys, you might think I'm crazy. Hold on, hold my beer. He's played 88% snap share in every single game this season.

Speaker 2:

On top of it, where do you think he ranks in terms of receivers and PPR? For that of fantasy football? It is number 13. He's the 13th receiver in full PPR at this point in time. He's had 14 targets, nine receptions in the last two weeks and on top of it, john, dallas is giving up the 20th most in passing yards per game. So what that tells me? Kirk Cousins is going to be cooking. They're going to try to lock up that of Kyle Pitts after what we saw him explode last week, and Drake London. You can't do everything, right? You can't also look at Bijan Mustard over there, right? So you also need to lock in on Darnell Mooney. So for me, man, I'm firing him up and every chance I get 10 man, 12 man, 14 man. Look to Mooney giving you a nice floor, baby.

Speaker 1:

All right, my last hit it here. This one's fun for me. I I'm I'm really getting excited about this team now. They struggled early on. I'm going with Matthew Stafford this week. Guys at Seattle Last week, week eight, he was the QB5. You know why? Because he had his toys back. He's got his boys back.

Speaker 2:

He's got his buddies back.

Speaker 1:

Matt Puka and Cup are healthy. Kyron Williams kicking ass out there. They got a healthy team. Sean McVay's been calling some great plays. Matthew kicking ass out there. They got a healthy team. Sean McVay's been calling some great plays. Matthew Stafford's back baby. He was 25 for 34 for 279 yards, four touchdowns. This is the only game he's had more than one touchdown in a game and he threw one pick. He connected to nine different pass catchers last week. They're at Seattle where Josh Allen just had his way with Seattle last week. Man, he scored over 22 fantasy points and I think Matthew Stafford is going to have a hell of a week.

Speaker 1:

And I think the real key here for Matthew Stafford is Kyron Williams. He's been so good man. I think it just takes the pressure off of Matthew Stafford. And now when you have Puka, the pressure off of Matthew Stafford. And now when you have Puka and Cooper Cup back, light them up, baby, fire up Matthew Stafford. Now, if you're an Anthony Richardson owner, if you're a Bo Nix owner, you're not going to start those guys this week. Book to Matthew Stafford as a wonderful addition to your team. All right, frankie, who are you quitting this week? Buddy, john, my first quit again.

Speaker 2:

This is if he plays is actually Travis Etienne. John Travis Etienne is playing at Philly. The big reason that I'm quitting him is because, more than likely, he was your second or third round pick and what that means is that you probably have other options for the running back. But you may be questioning it. Sit Travis Etienne, because Tank Bigsby is averaging 4.3 yards a carry, especially against that of Estalde last week, against that of Green Bay. Tank has been much, much more effective on the ground this year. To the tune of the last five games four of them he's actually rushed for over 75 yards and has four touchdowns in that time span. So what that means, what did Travis Etienne do?

Speaker 2:

John Travis Etienne has not had in full PPR all year, has not had over 15 points all year long, not one game and he's actually had negative points this year already and he's been banged up. So for me, man, sure you could look at it as well. You know they don't have a lot of receivers right, a lot of them are banged up. So maybe Travis Etienne could see an uptick. Sure, sure could. I'm not willing to put this week's um you know, potential uh, win or loss column on that of Travis Etienne. So for me, man.

Speaker 1:

I'm sitting his ass, and if you got Tank Bigsby I know I didn't call it out, but you probably want to fire his ass up. All right, frankie, I know you just talked about it in the Thursday night preview, but I don't care. Man, my quiddit is going to be CJ Stroud at the Jets this week at Jet Life Stadium maybe I know I know it's risky, these guys. Everybody drafted CJ Stroud as what? The quarterback five, something like that. I'm sorry, man, the reality is I'm sitting him this week. He's the QB 15. Currently. He's only has three games with more than two touchdowns this year. He's only hit 20 points in fantasy twice this year. He's playing the Jets defense man.

Speaker 1:

I just I am not in love with CJ week. You lost. Nico Collins is on IR, you lost Stefan Diggs. Tank Dell's a great receiver, but is he an alpha that's going to be able to carry you above this Jets defense, the secondary? I don't think so, man. I think it's going to be very tough sledding for CJ Stroud. My start of the week with Matthew Stafford. I would start Matthew Stafford over CJ Stroud this week Hot take.

Speaker 2:

Wow, love that, love that. It's a shame in a double quarterback league I have to start both. So awesome, john. My second quiddit is going to be Tyler Lockett. We talked a lot about Tyler Lockett last episode and my lord, what an egg he laid. Completely unexpected. We've been seeing Geno Cook.

Speaker 2:

We thought that this was going to be a high-flying game against that of the Bills last week and boy man, tyler Lockett laid an egg and now they're playing the Rams. And so the Rams are catching fire while Seattle's trying to figure it out. The Rams are actually averaging less, giving up less than 199 passing yards per game when they play away, which this game, I believe, is in that of Seattle. So with the Rams coming together, the D is going to see a boost, especially with them not being on the field as often. With Matthew Stafford now having his toys, as you mentioned, with Puka and Cooper Cup, they're going to be able to sustain quality drives. In addition, dk Metcalf man is optimistic to play. So if he is optimistic in everything else I just said, temper your expectations on Tyler Lockett this week, and I am sitting him and looking elsewhere, all right.

Speaker 1:

Well, my last suited here it's a. We're staying in Indy. This has been an Indy episode man. Michael Pittman at Minnesota this week.

Speaker 1:

Now I know I was all over Josh Downs as a start of the week. I was all excited because we've got Joe Flacco starting over Anthony Richardson finally. But I'm nervous about Michael Pittman, man. I. I'm nervous about Michael Pitt, my man. I'm really nervous about his back Again. We talked about it. He had talked that an IR stint wasn't off the table. That was last week. He's really been struggling, man. He had seven catches in the last three games. Now I know Anthony Richardson, the play's been rough. It's going to be better with Flacco, but I think something's wrong with him right now. I'm really concerned that he's in decoy mode right now, which is why you're seeing Alec Pierce with these bombs, with Josh Downs getting a lot of play, getting nine-plus targets in the last three games. I'm worried about Michael Pittman, man. Until you see him actually getting the targets, getting catches, being involved and not just being a decoy, I think you should wait and sit on him, man. John, question for you.

Speaker 2:

Would you rather start Michael Pittman Jr or Tyler Lockett If you're staring at both of them, knowing what we both have said, just curious throwing that out there, Would you rather?

Speaker 1:

Would you rather? I can't stand tyler lockett this year. I just think he I I think he's lost it, I think he's not getting separation. Um, I would start tyler lockett if dk sits, okay. Yeah, if dk plays. Um, I will move over to michael pitman, just hoping that he's feeling better and that flacco gets on the ball. Okay.

Speaker 2:

Love it. Yeah, just want to check, you know, checking temperatures here.

Speaker 1:

And the temperature.

Speaker 2:

Yes, Hmm, it's chilly. It's a little bit cold here.
